will my lamp catch on fire?

My lamp says that it takes 60w type a or smaller. My light bulb says "8w/14w/23w 120vac 60hz for use with 3 way sockets only." Will this overheat my lamp?

Three way socket... sounds hot.

Anyway, give it a go. I doubt you are gonna burn your house down, but you aren't gonna be growing quality weed with that dinky thing anyway.

I am pretty sure the 3 way is intended to be like a staged dimmer (hi, med, low setting). You may not be able to get the bulb to its high setting w/ your lamp. Try it out but you may want to move to a single stage - they are more powerful and use same wattage

plug it into a power strip with a built in circut breaker,if anything happens it will trip the circut breaker befor it catches on fire. i was scared of fires when i first started growing. getting a power strip calmed my nerves alot

Does any power strip work or is this a special one? Beucase I have one here... just a normal noe nothing special. I just plugged my lamp and fan into it.

im not an electrician but i would say any one would work, as long as it has reset switch on it.something like this

Ya, I wouldn't worry about anything under 40 watts catching fire, regardless of the socket.

yeah. it has a reset/opff switch
