will my light caz a fire?what about water?

i have a 27 watt bulb in a speaker box that i made very little ventalation the box is about 3'5 x 1'5 plywood there duck tape and calk on the corners so light cant get out if i leave it on will it catch on fire? also how much do i water the plants i just planted them and im using potting soil ?

Maybe everyone is afraid to give advice that might cause a fire. I would say if you are worried then don't do it. You could get a thermal shut-off switch so it automatically shuts off if it gets too hot. You could also spray paint the inside with heat/fire resistant paint.

You can turn the light on and check it every 15 min. for a day or so - then you'll know.

ya thanks tommorow i have a day off and im ganna turn it for the cyle and check on it all day so i will no thanks tho also wat about the watering tho once i plant thnem how often for watereing

I think the rule of thumb is if you can stick a finger in and it is dry down deep (not bone dry but not moist), it is safe to water but I don't know from experience. you'd have to consult the FAQs or ask a soil grower.

no fire from a 27w bulb, feel it and if its so hot it burns you in a split second then maybe but it wont, so youre fine
