Will this Work?

My brother built this system so I'm not sure exactly if this will work without any tinkering with it. Mainly I want to know if this will work and if so what sort of problems should I look for during the grow.

So I have 4 bubblebuckets and a fairly large reservoir that's two separate containers. The lower part of the reservoir has two holes drilled in it. One hole is used to connect it to the res that sits on top of it and the other hole is about a foot or so from the base with a flapper valve attached to it. So it's basically a 4 bucket DWC system with a two-part res fed by flapper.

Ideally I'd rather this be a recirculating DWC but I'm cheap. Will passive circulation from the res by flapper be sufficient? Will I be able to keep a reasonable eye on the nutrients from checking the res or will I need to check the buckets additionally?

Thanks in advance for any help offered.

I'm currently using a circulating Bubbleponics set up and love the results. I just used the pump for the drip system in a lower reservoir that pumps cooler water up to the upper main reservoir and drains back into the lower. The plants love the flow. Submersible pump and 1/2" tubing =$20
