I had the same last year. Will be interesting what others say. I had just planned on feeding lots of beneficials to hopefully help combat it

Hello,
Make sure the area is clean of dead plant material. I spray potassium chloride (Green Cure brand) and spray the area. I usually plant the next day. However sprayed it once on a whole plant and stunted for awhile. Changes the pH too much burns the leaves.

Actinovate is garbage. Since alot of variables are not in your control growing outside, best things to do are to not grow the strains that were susceptible to PM last year and control any nearby vegetation that are also susceptible to PM.
I like to clean up my lowers really well and thin out fan leaves to increase air flow because it usually starts from the bottom of the plant for me. Foliar with Silica, Neem, or Stylet Oil bi-weekly until flowers start to set. Enzyme's (big time exterminator, dr. zymes, etc.) work good for controlling pests/fungi if you have already entered flower.

Outdoor 100 gal smart pots. Had a few with white powdery mildew last year. Will the mildew winter in the dirt and attack this years plants ? Organic btw . Thanks

Yes. Spores will survive the winter in the soil. They spread much further in the wind though. It knows to hang around plants that can`t fight it off. Laying around to catch seedling is one way to insure it`s survival.

Thanks for the replys . I thought it would come back that's why I went with getawaymountainseed strains this year. Tga cheezquake was what had it last year, good bud but had problems with WPM. I will look at the foliar sprays

Yes PM stays in the soil. I would try to plant PM resistant varieties. Water the roots only, do not foliar feed. PM preventive measures are similar to what you would use for squash and zucchini.

Mold spores are pretty much an inescapable fact of life here in the NW

I had some PM last year, mostly confined to small spots in the centers of some lower leaves, I used a free sample of a product called "Banish" that seemed to halt the spreading, but didn't eliminate the PM already present. I may use it as a preventative measure this year

I had a little PM on my Hurricane Head FP. I snipped off what I could get to, and then used lemon water on it. It took care of it.
