Wilting Outdoors

Okay here's the thing,
We have had some very nice days this week so since my plants don't seem to be growing very fast under the CFL's I decided to put them outside .
Well every time I put them out in the natural sunlight they begin to wilt pretty much immediately. They will perk back up after a while, but still.
Anyone know anything about this? I am totally stumped

Imagine this.
When you wake up in the morning, immediately run outside into the noonday sun.
Squint like mad.
That is what your plants are doing because they are used to being under the artificail soft light from the CFL's.
They are squinting, and will take a bit for them to get used to the natural light.

Okay, that makes sense. So I guess my next step is to go with more powerful lights... Would love HID's but I don't know how I would deal with the heat... Maybe just stronger CFL's. Anyways just thinking outloud..... Thanks for the advise chucky.

Stronger, or more CFL's, look in the indoor section, at the top there is a whole section with lighting related threads! Plenty of good suggestions there.....
If I remember correctly, there is even a thread towards the top, in that lighting section, with some links where you can order stronger CFL's than what is regularly carried at the hardware stores.
I am going to start checking that out as well, since I am contemplating a PC box grow over the winter.

plants grown under artificial light need to be "hardened off" to the suns powerful rays, the way to do it is to put them outside in a partially sunny area for an hour or so the 1st day, and slowly increase their exposure to the sun each day until they are able to handle it. Day 2 for example you might leave them in partial sun for 1-1/2 to 2 hours, and so on.
