Window ac problem

Yes I am having problems with ice forming on the fan and it makes a racket. I am trying to keep a sealed room for co2 usage. I was thinking about spraying some wd40 or something to repel that water so it wont build up and freeze

will not work the wd40 will get pushed off by the ice forming

ice forming on the unit means u have it going way to much or u are in a cool area now and no need for a AC unit ..............i know no use in telling u this but had too

work around u need Deicer and a system to spray it every now and then .............or a hair dryer on a timer and pointed at the fan box every hour it kicks on for 15 mins and blows warm/hot air at it......u are going to have water damage no matter what u do

maybe even get a dehumitifer less water in the air less ice can form

I strongly suggest getting a new ac unit your depending a lot on the ac. ac units ice up when there is a problem with moisture in the ac system . it needs to be took apart and serviced. idk what sixe unit your using price starts at 110 dollars. and if your is old you may save electric any ways getting a new one. look for one with 410a not r22 . 410 lot more efficient

I just purchased the ac in august. And I have a dehumidifier already in the room. I was told to just raise the temperature of the ac so it doesnt work as much
