Wintering Cacti and Trees.

I planted a lot of cacti and trees from seed this spring, and they're all in bucket containers. Im thinking of burying them, container and all, into the ground for the winter. Ideas? Suggestions?

well some cacti cant take a freeze, i have cacti and they have been outside for three weeks of freezing temps and they are fine but some dont like it. id find out what type they are and then find some info on if they can handle a freeze

One suggestion: make sure your roots have plenty of room to grow if you're going to be keeping them in their buckets.

Do you know what kind of Cacti they are?

cover plants with a shelter....there is that fabric shelter u can buy....its thin semi transparant and doesnt absorb water and breathes...maybe for just the especially cold times...ive seen someoen do it to peach trees

burying it sounds like a good idea...ive heard lots of ppl talk about heating plants over winter with compost too
