Also just just another pointer. Make sure the 240 breaker goes across BOTH bus bars and not not the same one twice or you won't have 240v
Buy a double pole single throw breaker and you won't have to worry about this. I assume thats what you were going to do anyway.

Never ran into a double pole breaker that slid on the same busbar. Am I missing something? Have to ask being that I was an electrician and AC tech for over 4 years.

even if he used 2 single poles, all he would have to do is cut a piece off of the copper wire(12 gauge works best) to slide it in the holes that are on the breaker switch. This would link both of your single poles and would almost make it impossible to only turn one on. Just dont skip any spaces if doing this. Make sure they are touching being that the busbar alternates spaces

Fuck the breaker dude just wrap your wires around the bus bar or the main feeds coming into the house

Hey dI'd you know that if you run 240 you will use half the amount of electricity!! Has to be my all time favorite dumb as stoner remark

Ya'll did start to confuse me with all the extra dialogue, just want to make sure I'm understanding everything correctly. I had planned on adding this double pole breaker as it matches the rest that are currently in my main panel...


As mentioned before it is 50A, does this seem to be what you had in mind jiji? Thanks again,
