I just posted something similar on another thread....

A friend is using MG 20-20-20, his plants are doing just fine, but they're half the size of mine (I use weed nutes).

Just an opinion from another noob, get some proper fert for your girls.

You can use it on veggies and flowers. I have for years. Inside the package is a scoop. Mix 1 scoop per gallon of water. Don't pour directly on plants. Moisten soil just like when using plain water. I fert. once every two weeks. Happy growing!

That should be good for them unless you want to go organic. If that's the case good old manure really is the shit. Just make sure you get the composted poo. Fresh stuff is too hot. if you have not already planted the garden you can amend the soil with it, which basicly means spread it out and roto till (or hoe)it in the soil. I had three foot tall pepper plants from doing that. If you have planted take small amounts and work it in the soil with a small hand shovel between the plants and rows. Be careful you don't cut the roots with the shovel. This works fine too but takes a little more time and care. It also is something that will feed your plants all season. Do it once and you are done. Happy Growing!!

Oh...by the way, the poo can be used with anything you grow. The miricle grow is not for your weed.
thanks my friend bought manure forthe potting soil but imma try the plant food for a little and see how it goes and then when i transplant it to a bigger pot imma mix it with the manure thanks for the advice an one more thing if the potting soil is mix with the manure does that mean i dont really need to feed it at all just water it ??

Yes, if mixed with poo just water. Sorry it took me awhile to get back to you. I haven't been online for a few days.

MG all purpose has several different npk ratios, depending on how old that box is
The newest version is great.

It's 24-8-16, which dilutes down to a perfect 3-1-2 starting point for vegging. I water w/ nutes every time.
It also has all the micro nutrients you need except calcium and magnesium...

For vegging I boost it w/ MG Azalea food (30-10-10) diluted down to 3-1-1, for a combined npk of 6-2-3. This seems to work well for my soil/water/lighting/temp.....

For about $30 you can get on line, enuf Mono Potassium Phosphate (0-52-34) and Potassium Sulphate (0-0-50) to add to MG and make up any flowering ratio you want.

I use:

Early Flower 3-4-8
Mid Flower 1.5-2-4
Late Flower 1.6-3.5-7
Pre Harvest 0-1.5-3.0

For less than $40 you'll be set for a whole lot of plants that would cost hundreds from the boutiques

good luck

the directions say water w/ nutes every 2 weeks
that too complicated

when it's dry I water it with my mix of nutes
just use a dilution that allows for use whenever you water
3-1-2 is diluted down enuf to use each time

Osmocote Plus, can be found at most home improvement store. Grows great plants outdoors start to finish. Just add 2-3 tablespoons per gallon of hole size at planting will carry most plants through for 3-4 months.......

There's many different ways to feed your plants. You have to do what works for you and your style of gardening. I'm all about feeding it and forgetting it. I love to garden but I love to enjoy my summer too. The plants will tell you what they need. Water and feed them if they need it otherwise leave them alone. Growing veggies outside is not rocket science. Most veggies are no where near as touchy as growing weed. You will do fine. Don't sweat it. Good luck!
