wooden airstone, OK or not?

I wouldnt think they would get slimy since they arent exposed to light, petco for 20 bucks has 6 inch disks that put out allot of air.

I don't think all stores stock the same stuff, I've been to my local petco at least 4 times and they didn't have any disk airstones, there was one golf-ball circle one but it had all this decorative shit on it.

another question: is a ph scale that can measure between 6.0 and 7.6 ppm good or do i need a different range?

I wouldnt do wood since it can grow mold.

How about getting the one that looks like a carbon stone? It might be even made out of it which would filter the water, hah
