Most likely because they do work, it's fun and challenging, they advance by a greater margin every year compared to HID/CFL lights, the light is pretty, they produce a lot less heat, which helps for closet grows, they save energy (not nearly as much as producers claim, but still 25-30% compared to HID). So, it's all about taste.
You might like growing tall, in big rooms and shit, then HID lights will suit you best, but LED users are mostly small-time growers, in 5'x5' areas, with either SOG or ScrOG, which suits them best.
You get it now? or do you need more?
Thats the most narrow-minded comment Ive heard on here. If you want to know about wasting time and money, go to your state capitol! I HAVE used and will CONTINUE using LEDs because they are BETTER!!!!!!! Its NOT a waste of money if it makes you happy! I have grown first hand better bud with an LED than any other light Ive ever used over the last few years. I got nearly a gram per watt my first run and had some runts in the mix with some autos and I overfed stunting them a little.
P.S. Fuck your high heat and high electric bills too! It costs me more to run my FANS than it does to run my LED!!!! And now I dont need all those fans and an a/c running all the time!
