Oops in order..my bigger blue dream, close up of bd nug, my girls gangster ass cat, and a super silver haze x mystery that smells like trix cereal...looks to be very small yielder but mmmmmm

Dont know why some pics post sideways sorry.
I do not know about other silicon additive products.I just read testimonials, and went with it with happy results of what the label claims. Some other than label benefits include, insect bite resistance, and I can train side colas (open airflow/light penetration) by bending them out till just before slight crunch more easily.

I use 5 grams (3/4 tsp) of the Maxi to compensate for lower wattage (440W pll floro) lighting. It gets a little on the hot side with the supplements I add,but it feeds the 12/12 stretch nicely with just enough N for my height restriction.I cut back strength to 50% when weight slows, and stabilises.
Bingo on the fan. http://www.mandalaseeds.com/Guides/Marijuana-Mildew

Awesome lookin plants.I know how things go,but is there any way to find out that SSHXMystery is?I assume Mystery is not a strain, but an unknown is what I am talking about.

You should caption cat pick with "Thug Life" or "There Here".

Not sure if this has been answered but I'm encountering overwatering symptoms with my Northern Lights #5. I'm using rockwool in addition to perlite, which I'm sure is the culprit as it retains too much water. I also have them under LED. Is it possible to remove the rockwool without damaging the roots? The plant only has three nodes but quite sure it has a well established root base.

You won't be removing Rockwool from a plant without damaging its roots. When you say Rockwool, are you talking about cubes? or flock, like in Mapito?

If you believe overwatering is an issue, is it not as simple as watering less frequently? What symptoms are you speaking of?

A pic would be great dude. :peace:

Thanks for the quick response Moebius. Not sure how to post pics from IPhone which I'm limited to. I started the plant in 1" rockwool cube to kick it off. Transplanted cube into perlite when it outgrew rockwool. I'm about three weeks in and notice the leaves tips are wilting like they are starting to rot. Very soft like roting lettuce. I'm a bit stumped because the plant is up taking water as the container is lite after a day or two.

I absolutely guarantee that 1" cube of rockwool will not be the cause of any over-water symptoms. If the container is lighter every couple of days we can almost exclude over-watering as the diagnosis.

How's your heat and humidity?

GOOD Air movement is essential for healthy leaves.

Edit:
Better not post pics with the Iphone, unless you know how to delete the embedded data.

This may be my problem. Temp is close to 90 degrees lights on and 80 lights out with humidity between 50-60. Have a small squirrel cage fan that lets her breathe but only a small 80mm pc fan for intake. Will take care of this ASAP.

The LED may be cause aswell if it is a knock off of many flooding the market with off spectrum leds.Get it under a 6500k cfl just in case till you determine leds quality, and specific make.

Are you ph'ing your nute mix?Just like Moebs query the more info the better we can help.

Since Roots sound like they are established in res then watering the cube is not needed.I usualy peel away top corners.Algae in res will take nutes away from plant and can be maintained with 1-2 drops of bleach to 1 gal of your nute mix,but is risky with a sick plant.a couple of capfulls of 3% hydrogen peroxide to your your feeding maybe a safer bet.

I'm using a Blackstar 240w and I do ph my nutes(between 5.6-5.8) I'm feeding at 190 ppms with Maxi Grow.
I have noticed the grow area is bit stuffy and will have this worked out when I get home and lights are on

Edit: Ph between (5.6-5.8)
Don't know why I keep getting the smiley face. Should read as .8

I hear Blackstars are good......whah ph 5.6-5.???.I say shoot for 6.There is a malconceived ph chart goin around the web where people are holding as gospel.Save the ph swing play for a tester clone.
You may have let plant dry out some stressing it.Your enviro may have stressed the leaves with overtranspiration?

Not sure why there was a smiley face, should have read (5.6-5.8). I think this has to do with air quality, thanks guys, gonna see if I can tweak my environment.

Edit: Again with the smiley face.......wtf .8

Yeah dalek no idea what the mystery is...got the seed out of a bud from a dispensary. Asked them if they knew if it was hermi. They claimed the supplier breeds and they had never seen hermie traits on the same cut the bud came from. Been watching it for hermi anyway. FANTASTIC smell but guessing less than an oz off the 24 inch plant.

I have so many fans in my little 4x4 tent that it wants to take off. Just started running a 750 watt jeater in dark cycle it drops humidity from 50-55% to about 35. I worry though that temps staying within 5 degrees lights on/off may affect my buds though. I always run 10-15 degrees change.

lol ... yep it better to have more fans than less. ... I like to use some for moving air around the grow room, some to blow leaves and stems, and some to provide a barrier of moving air directly under the lights. ... That's the theory anyhow.

I'm so glad I never have to worry about humidity or heating in the off period. I do a basement grow and everything is pretty stable. On the downside I only have a 1.5 meters of height.

Well that wayward seed sounds like it found a nice home.Keep in mind that some growers will keep a strain that throws some nanners here and there by harvest time.If it is a special dank that does not threaten the rest of the garden? It is kept clone only.

The day/night temps affect internodel spacing, and wether or not the plant will display unique pheno colorings of the plant that take effect during cooler night temps.

I forget most of my research in that area but try to keep within 10*F-15* of lights on,and off aswell.

Fans are good. :)

Oh Moeb I would love a grow space like that (just shy of 5ft).
I would have 2 shelves. One shelf being the floor, and a middle shelf.Fixed Under middle shelf, and ceiling would be 4ft T5 fixtures with minimum 6 bulbs each. The plants would be topped mid stretch straight to 12/12 rooted clone sog.Individualy raised/lowered to the lights.I would have to stoop in there but it would be wicked sick.

Pic of my Pregger girl ala Hempy cup.

I'm going to discuss this with you some more Dalek ... If you don't mind, I'll post some more accurate info/pics/schematic of my grow space and get your thoughts on maximizing my room and equipment. (Ive got too much equipment). LOL..... I'll do that when I get back later.

At this very moment ... I'm about to head out the door to get me some SUPER SKUNK seeds. ... I want a 90's Indica that finishes early..... I need MORE plants.

When you run seeds of that strain you been wanting to try,You of course pic the best Mother to clone from.Sometimes There is a certain girl that
says "keep me" right directly to your senses. She does not yield so great, and potency is not up there with the others. She may just have a taste that blows the others out of the water, with an under 8 wk finishing time to your taste.Whatever the reason you may not have room in your Mother area,so you have to let her flower out to free up space.

Free up space for that special girl with a Bonsai Hempy Mum BHM.
http://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=31919

Nute strength/light intensity correlates to Mother stasis (little cutting production) to production (multiple shoots of cuttings).

A BHM can start showing signs of rootbound out to 4-5 mos. While holding plant in cup tilt, and drain res. After loss of suction the plant pops out. With the plant out of cup one can do a ph'ed water dunk (make sure PH'ed water is room temp). With 1-2 drops of bleach per gal of PH'ed water the medium zone can be kept completely under the water for 15 minutes (I leave them in for a half hour). From time to time a gentle raise out of the water letting medium drain then reimmerse in water. This dunk step is more for advanced root zone maintainence,Due to Aphid attack, neglected salt flushings, light leaked algea bloom, severe PH correction, resetting bennies etc etc etc.If root bound plants look generaly healthy in the root zone then skipping the dunk is just fine. With sterile procedures cut the roots horizontaly with the drain hole leaving fudge room below hole.In a clean Hempy cup replace the volume of medium lost with a slightly more amount.Make sure most importantly that the exposed roots sit in res near drain hole level when plant is put in cup.give a light feed with some generous run off and get under light starting with medium intensity, and increase gently in both light/nutes.Keep in mind the plants love a dunking,or rootbound releif.

Here is some slightly crispy diy drybox buds (4 days) I harvested from a special girl at day 45 of 12/12.
I get to enjoy a taste/high profile different from a 7.5 wk harvest in wich at both stages is truely unique.
The flexible harvest time frame, delicious tastes, and soothing yet functional buzz saved her from the garden culling.

Same plant in BHM style.Bent wire to open up canopy from inside outward while making woody to green frame work for shoot sites.I could have taken a rubbing alcohol moistened paper towel to the drain hole area to make oh so pretty.I just want to show the healthy root sticking out with all that precipate nutrient chem salts being fushed out.It would not be white if not right (do not repeat this out loud in certain company). This 5 1/2 mo old mom still has the starter cube in there. She waits for clone replacement because I do not want to run into any possible Rockwool troubles that I am unaware of past the 6 mo mark.Of course the clone will carry on that special girl.

That would be cool to offer what input I can.The BHM thread will come in handy to save space if needed. The BHM's can be transplanted root bottom resting on res style to gallon buckets if you need to extend your away time from garden for what ever reason.

I am on first run/pheno hunt with 3 girls of Highgrade seeds Black Queen. The few journals I read show a unique under 8 wk Indica that hits like a bus,or for you a double decker.

I sent you awhile back, and posted to the WOH thread my grow link.If not allready,or recently give it a once over for ideas.Determine your goals, and needs for your grow, and make this one helluva world.

Catch ya on the flip.

Ive decided not to make the room changes I had 'briefly' contemplated. My idea was to tarp the floor and flood/drain the whole area. The floor is concrete and walls are brick. ... Anyways, Its a daft idea. The complexity is too great for what really is just a crawl-space. .... I need to watch less You-Tube videos and focus on what I already have.

Hempys are so simple. Its probably best I keep to this setup. ... Today got those Super Skunk seeds (10). Unfortunately the shop had sold out of the ones from 'Sensi-Seeds' so I bought the ones bred by Nirvana. As soon as the pop' I'll stick em flower room for some quickie 12-12 from seed.

Re: Bonsai Hempy Moms. ... Never tried but I do small soil moms. I don't know how small they have to be to qualify as 'Bonsai' but I prefer (or need to) keep many small moms as opposed fewer big mommas.

Black Queen sounds interesting ... possibly related to 'White widow' ? I'll check it out.

Flood/drain when you have Hempy technology? You must be one dodgey wanker watching those vids....;)

You want to take Hempy to the next level?I did a version of this with 1 gal Hempy with great results but only in veg.
Basicly a Hempy bucket mounted DWC netpot style.I used 3 screws half sticking out of the bucket (above drain hole) to hold it from falling thru.I illustrated rods (pvc?) if one is uncomfortable using screws. The pump on a digital timer (digi has minute intervals),and if one wanted but not needed is an airstone/air pump set with the pump.Run tote res with Dwc principals,or just change out weekly.
You can run tests with PH swing effects on your strains. For veg set nuted res at 5.5ph and let go to 6.5ph before correction.
For bloom set nuted res at 6.5ph and let swing to 5.5ph before correction.I only done the ph swing test in veg,and would love to revist this test for a bloom plant (I still have the parts).I liked to mount the hose so there is some fall height aimed at the plants main stem set at 1 minute a day feed.A covered acces hole in the lid is good for quick res inspections.I suggest a fast draining medium to be used like ie Hydroton or lavarock.

I will stick to the skunky undertone expressions on some of my hybrids than a full on Skunk strain for security reasons.

Yes Black Queen is a White Widow X Zombie Black.I do not know for sure what ZB is but so far the BQ is very Indica in stature.

I thought about keeping moms in soil but figured it would attract bugs, and it is easy to keep BHM's.

Forgive the crude drawing but the principal of it is there.

BTW over ride timer for pump a couple minutes for an accurate tote res ph reading,or when filling with addback nutes or plain water.

My CH9 "Cluster" (2g coco hempy) shown earlier in this thread was taken down this weekend....impressive hunk of honey for a 2g container. I was cleaning out the bucket later and when I tipped the bucket upside down to get the root mass out I noticed that there were no real roots down in the perlite res....the chunky #3 perlite just whisked away from the bottom coco "slug" formed by the bucket...some fine hair roots had reached the sides of the bucket and moved to the bottom but nothing like I've seen in those 2L pop bottles you see here on RIU. I'm freaking...as a matter of fact the roots near the bucket sides were not circling or very dense. They must have been really "happy" in the coco is all I can say...tell me about your bucket-res roots please.
