Thanks for the link Stone.... Flowa's shit is insane. I can't grow monsters like that yet.... no room. I grow in two cabinets, one with T5's for veg and the other with an adjustable 600w HPS for flower. I also have to store all my growing paraphernalia in them as well to keep it out of sight. That will change my next day off when I build a separate cabinet for all my growing shit.

Ya flowa's system is sweet but space was an issue for me too. That's why I use the 5L buckets and scrog to try and use the space as much as I can. Works out to a 22" x 33" screen when all three plants are lined up like the pics there.

My wife and I grow together. She takes care of things while I am away at work. So with that in mind I decided against hydro as to keep shit as simple as possible for her. I tend to over complicate everything I do. My last grow I SCROGed... so she has the hang of that now. She does good. I just don't want a system with a bunch of shit that could go wrong that I have to troubleshoot over the phone with her. D2W has works good for us. Hempy seems like a logical (easy) possible improvement to how we grow to help us push our ladies to their max given our space, experience and time limitations.

I was bitching on my SB grow thread about feminized seeds and how 3 of 5 can be mutated or nute sensitive. I looked in the tent to day and saw one of my "Crazy Miss Hyde" babies had gone from asymmetrical bi-nodal to near symmetrical tri-nodal....welcome a CMH tipod. Watts had some great pics on his "tri"...must have sent the magic down south to me. Wondering if this is a good trait for yield....I missed my FIM's on my last grow and re-FIM'ed 2 times to get a good spread. This might make a great FIM'er if I do it right this time.

ahh I feel a bit lame after asking for the recipe and not making it yet. ... I swear as I get older there are fewer hours in the day to do what I want. :joint: :wall:

Gonna make it this weekend though. Should be a good treat after a heavy cardio workout. LOL. Yeah that's my plan. Happy days.

Just had another look at the plant with resin and in my grow-room.

I don't think it's aphids because they reproduce like nobodies business and I haven't even seen one. But for all I know it could have been some unknown to science Beetle that happened upon my growroom and sucked my ganja, before secreting that resin from its bottom. ... I've decided to pass on the tasting session I had planned.

Oh man u didn't taste I was hoping u'd be tripping and seeing dragons or flying elephants, or something good.
How does the saying go?

Taste in haste, sit on the toilet at leisure. ...... or something like that. Not knowing what it is, I may end up seeing a doctor rather than flying elephants. lol.

my hempy gals are 58 days old (since sprouted) and have been in flower since mid-April....they are rated at 35-42 days, so I'm guessing May 19 to 25th which is only 2 weeks away (more or less) but the buds are not as dense I was anticipating, maybe I'm just being impatience.

My favorite one is the bucket, as it’s the biggest and is in perfect health with no yellow leaves. My original plan was to have this bucket as an indoor sunlight grow, but it’s just too large to move in & out of the grow room.

The 2L bottles are doing well….hard to say which one will produce the most but I’m happy with all of them.

The dwarfed dirt dweller is getting close, still lots of clear trichromes but many are turning milky…but no amber yet so I’m guessing 1 or 2 more weeks.....I continue to move her into the direct sunlight when available.

Then the 3 babies started for GF….brought over the best 2 plants to her place (she has great sun exposure) but kept the third as it is such a runt…. healthy but very small and is growing extremely slow. (sprouted April 16[SUP]th[/SUP])

cheers

Mo, I'd try that goo on a hot knife, just to take a whiff. That alone might tell the tale.

Take care,

JD

I took some of the goo from the plant with a razor-blade.

I heated it with a lighter but no smoke was realeased, it just started boiling vigorously, so I decided to taste.

It's extremely sweet, actually sweeter than sugar. So I still don't have a clue. Just wish I had enough to spread on some toast.

IME the problem isn't "wicking up" with fabric pots. They actually wick moisture up very very well. But the also wick moisture out from the medium into the fabric where it evaporates wayyyyy faster than in a standard pot where the only evap action you have it out the top of the pot and tiny drain holes in the bottom. This very well could have been the cause for the not so happy runs..... but this is pure conjecture on my part. Possibly a setup where a smart pot that fits snug inside a non permeable reservoir container that has the standard drain 2" up but then extends up to cover 2/3's or so of the smart pot would be the sweet spot between breath-ability and excessive evaporation....
I've done this a couple times now, and the 3gal smart pot fits perfectly into the bottom of a 5gal bucket. I have a couple going right now. Both runs the smart pots have lagged behind the hard buckets, but they have been very healthy happy plants, it's just that they take 2 wks longer to finish in the smart pots. I cut my buckets off at the 2" level. I'll post a pic later when I get home from work.

Now you guys have all kinds of ideas flying around inside my little head...... whatever franken creature Hempy I come up with I'll make sure to run a clone of the same plant in a straight up old school Hempy and post results.

I wonder if the sap is evidence of a high brix level in bud. and if so what does this mean about GDP, if anything.?

hmmm ... I need to research that one, also find if the sap has any relation to nutrient levels and photosynthesis. i.e is this the 'sugars' feeding the plant.

I already know that GDP is special but are the fat, rock-hard buds due in any part to the sap.
