would a 250watt light be ok with a 32x32x63 tent?

So many factors to rule there is no right answer
typically 3x3 rooms could push a 400 4x4 rooms
could push a 600 and a 5x5 can run a 1k.

Generally speaking thats how it goes, your setup
might need more or less I donno thats for u to learn.

good luck with ur grow

Best investment really is a 600w ballast with dim switch. This means you will not need to re-invest more money later as you need more power, which you probably will. This is a great hobby and we all end up going a bit larger eventually ;) Most guys will recommend a minimum 400w especially if it is in a good cooled hood.

But if I understand correctly you already have the lamp, in which case you can definitely run it in a tent that size if it is cooled. No problem.

Technically speaking a 3x3 can use a 400w or 600w HID,a 4x4 can use a 600w to 1000w HID.

Just supply between 50w and 66w per square foot.A little under isn't all that bad...math...

3x3 = 9 square feet

400/9 = 44.44w per square foot
600/9 = 66.66w per square foot

4x4 = 16 square feet

600/16 = 37.5w per square fiot (too low IMO,would be better with two 400w lights)
1000/16 = 62.5w per square foot

no sorry. I still have to buy my items. I was looking at a small 250watt hps and a 400watt hps both with air cooled hoods. I was just asking around to see if a tent of 32x32x63 or 36x20x62 be enough space for me to scrog 2 plants. I am looking for info before I buy my items. Which ever light I choose, is it better to use more of a square tent like the 32x32 for better light coverage or does it matter?

I have a 20x36x60" tent and use a 400w. If I could keep it cool I'd use a 600w but it would be hard to keep it cool in such a small tent. 600w dimmable would be your best bet. That way you can always dim the lamp if it's too hot.

I do well with a 3x3x6 and a 250W light. Last run I pulled 4oz. It's enough for my head and enough for me to not have to run it in the summer if I keep it going from fall till the spring.

Good Luck and happy growing,

ok I will be going with a 400watt dimmable light with a air cooled hood. So what size tent would be good for that? 32x32x63 since the tent is square for better light coverage? Or a 36x20x62, maybe 48x24x60? Is it better to have a taller tent? Again I am just looking to scrog 2 plants. So with a 400watt dimmable light with a air cooled hood. What tent out of the those 3 should I use? I wanna buy it today. Thank you for everyones help and replies.

As I said I have a 20x36x60" tent and a 400w, I scrog one plant and this is the result....

If I were to do it again I wouldn't get anything smaller than a 3x3.

You will be glad you went bigger I have a 2x3x5 tent as well but run led. Regardless it isn't very big and you always wish you had more room. I grew in a closet 2x4x8 with a 400 and found two plants scrog or trained works pretty well for that space.

In a 32x32 area 250w is not sufficient enough lighting.

32" = 2.66667 square feet

2.66667x2.66667 = 7.11113 square feet

250/7.11113 = 35w per square feet.

It would be fine for vegging but a 400w HID would be needed for any decent flower growth/yield.

400/7.11113 = 56w per square foot.

A 32x20 area is 4.44446 square feet

250/4.44446 = 56w per square foot...a 250w HID would be best suited toward the smaller tent.
