have just read up on fimming and defoliation techniques and they seem to be good ways of getting better yield...to date i have topped, lollipoped and super cropped. would using defoliation techniques and fimming be better than topping and super-cropping... to date lollipop-ping topping and super cropping have worked well anyone got any thoughts on the subject

Fimming, topping are for more tops and to distribute auxins. Super cropping is for height control and for the limb to act like its own plant for increase in yields on certain strains.

Lollipopping would be for like a sog with many single cola plants. You would clean a little of the lower scruff off.

I wouldn't defoliate. It makes no sense as leaves are what drive the plant and bud production.

You would need to take each new strain and grow it natural and with the different techniques to see how each strain responds to different training. Not all strains reapond the same.

i have used both. i dont care for fim anymore and wont. i have yet to come across a plant that hasnt enjoyed being topped...or multiple tops. i do that and when i flip, i trim all lower 3rd. all of it. if i dont, i just leave the popcorns on it. i just throw it out. too much work

white....you said defoliate, then dont defoliate. which is it for you?

i take fan leaves all the time. even in late flower. never had a problem. still pull well over 4z a plant regardless of defoliation

take a few clones once u start getting little flowers , once they take root they start throwing branches out from everywher..... it takes about 3 weeks for them to re-veg tho... then about a week to get past the abnormal growth , but once the bitch is done being retarded its crazy,

Don't defoliate. I was being sarcastic at first. Cutting leaves and limbs off hurt yield. As for lower popcorn, it is good for hash or butter.

gotcha. it doesnt have that effect for me. i do it so i can get the water hose in there. thought it would mess them up. hasnt yet so i'm sticking with it. guess its one of those things thats personal preference

I don't remember if your for it or against it.

I will say there are times I do it. I would however tell someone that has no experience with different techniques to grow a few plants first and see how they respond to the lighting in each persons case. Take that info and decide if you want to deal with the lower popcorn.

I harvest in stages. I cut the tops and let the lower buds go a while longer.

I know. I've read it once. Mostly a bunch of arguing and I don't feel like reading it again.

I know on the last page you show you cut in stages.
Cut in stages? That's NOT the issue I was trying to clarify. Reread that post, LOOK at the photos, and try to comprehend the proof presented.

I clearly showed that even with my plant getting full sun from morning to night, the lower part of the plant will not bulk up no matter how much you wish it to be.

IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH LIGHT INTENSITY.
