I have a small cupboard op with 1 plant currently in it's vegetative state. The setup, and stealth factors don't allow for any significant exhaust/intake system. So basically I just place a big fan, a few feet in front of the open cupboard here and there to allow some circulation. The plant does currently look very healthy, but I'd like to optimize the growing conditions. Right now the average temperature is from 27-30C..and I have to use the fan quite often, with the cupboard doors open, to keep it from going above 30C...The problem with the doors open/fan always running is that it reduces my humidity greatly..to an average of 24-29%. The area with the plant does not have enough to room to hold a vicks cool mist humidifier; which normally would be ideal in this situation. I've done the old add wet towels, and bowls of water to add humidity. I was thinking of a new method to keep the temp cool and raise the humidity a tad. Let me know what you think. Adding ice cube trays? Do you guys think it would slightly increase humidity, while only slightly decreasing the temp. Which would be ideal in my situation. Thanks for your opinions.

The open door on the cupboard is probably not a bad idea for now due to your current situation, but when you do get to a 12/12 cycle you are gonna wanna have it completly dark in you grow cab. So keep in mind the height of your grow cab because your plant will double or tripple in height. Also to adjust your humidity just add a bowl or some sort of tubberware fill it with some water and the evaporation should get desirable adjustments. Peace brother :peace::leaf:

I read sumwhere that humidity is bad for MJ. Humidity causes fat leaves and less THC production. I figure it's a desert plant so it's real arid. Humidity is like for jungles....MJ dont do to well in jungles b/c its always so wet. Correct me If Im wrong people.

24-29% is a little low but I've had worse. Your plant will generate humidity as it gets bigger. Just keep a bowl of water in there and you should be alright.

MJ can grow in many environmental conditions. In thailand, india, south america, mexico, afghanistan, north america. Humidity cant be horrible for a plant and mj isnt a desert plant.bongsmilie

Thanks dude. I added a bunch of small containers of water, some wet towels, and I mist the walls every so often..and now the humidity is a pretty solid average of 33-38%. But yeah your right, I'll have to control the humidity and temp during the dark period, so I'll likely have to magyver some sort of exhaust system eh. Do you know the optimal humidity/temp ranges for the 12/12 cycle?

no problem man you might not have to mist the walls but im sure you got it under control now. How far along are you in veg? Soil or hydro?

Umm I got the clone probably a week into veg, so now it's probably 2-3 weeks in? You'll have a better idea from the pics. I just transplanted today actually, and it's still growing like a savage. I think it likes the cupboard lol.
