Would not have believed it otherwise..

OH...and Texas...as for pics. I did not take any "before" pics but I got 4 more seeds germinating now and I will start a photo journal with before and after pics. I would have taken pics had I known the reaction was gonna be like it was for me.

MoonChild,
I finally opened my rid ex and there doesnt seem to be a scoop, the directions instruct you to pour 1/4 box etc nothing about a scoop. Would you mind measuring how much the scoop holds so we can formulate. Also, when you make 2 gallons - is that just for one plant or do you put a little bit in each plant. Thanks!!!!!

Rid-X forgot the scoop...THOSE BASTARDS....lol...

Just measured the scoop that came with mine and it's right at a Tablespoon. If possible, since I failed to, would you mind doing some before and after pics? For two gallon DWC I used 1 TBS (I have a Habenaro plant in a 2gal DWC). My girls are in 5gal and for that I still use about a scoop and a half, give or take some.

With the 4 MJ seeds that are ready, I am going to do two with Rid-X and two without. My climate is controlled and my strain is stable so this way I can get some good comparison pics. I would take and post pics of my pepper plants but doubt there is any interest in those here. I"m excited to hear how it works for ya.

One thing that dawned on me. Something as simple as this (Rid-X) and the Hydro companies stick us with the samething but unGodly prices. Talk about taking us to the bank....lol.

thanks! im in siol so i cant get pics of roots, plus have made some other major changes (changed from soiless to blazeoneup's (from icmag) soil recipe.) The plants have already responded really well to that, I'm gonna have to wait a couple days to get any of this mixng but will defintely post results to the best of my ability.

Well I tried this out last night and guess I put too much rid x. I added about 5 tsp to a pantyhose and tied it off. I woke up to dying, fallen over plants, all my roots had been eaten up and had gunk on them. The water was very foamy and nasty looking. Maybe it was bc I had Hydroguard in there already? Anyhow I rushed them into some plain, phed water and four hours later they seem to be perking back up. Hopefully they will be ok.

So yeah Im pissed. My plants are recovering but very slowly, where they were once thriving. There is still goop on my roots, even with the hydroguard. I dont know what to do here.

rid x is designed to eat and break down waste and organic material. it will in fact eat your roots when droped into a dwc. the bubbling you see is the enzymes eating everything in your res including your roots and turning it into a gas. its the same process as the sugar and yeast effect when makeing a co2 bottle. except its your plants root system thats the food not the sugar.

That's what I thought, but then I did a quick google and found some info on their site it seems it doesn't actually disolve roots or clear septic systems of roots. It seems to eat dead organic matter as opposed to live organic matter. However, they recommend not putting it directly on lawn or plants, so you know they've gotten questions like this before...

http://www.rid-x.com/faq.shtml

Q: Is RID-X® safe for grass and plants?
A:
Used according to directions, the all-natural ingredients in RID-X® won’t harm plants. However, it should not be applied directly to the lawn or plants.

A quick googling though brings up using Rid-X on your roses and in your aquarium (yuck!). So I dunno. I personally wouldn't trust it though, especially without solid evidence.

I've been using ridx for years (in my septic system). I have never had a box come with a scoop. Probably because you are supposed to use the whole box. Or half at the very least. There is no use for ridx that would require you to need a measuring scoop.

Can the OP post a picture of the ridx box that contained this scoop? Or any pictures at all? AFAIK pictures of hydroponically grown peppers are not a crime, so why not post some?

Anyone else smell bullshit?

I wish I could give negative feedback, the OP is full of more shit than the septic systems Rid X is poured in....

On the top right of each post, next to the rep+ symbol, there's two !! in a box to report post like his.

I just posted a report and hopefully they'll band his ass from this forum. I suggest others do the same. This isn't the type of crap we need within this forum.

Obviously, you haven't done any research of your own!!! Maybe you should be banned for being blind. The guy doubled the dose, think that may have been a problem?? I do and have not used myself but surely will. Much cheaper then buying other beneficial bacteria. Thanks for the info. and ++++rep
