Would putting 8 40 watt bulbs in one power strip be bad?

Is that a lot of power? It'd be for like 3 plants Would it be a fire risk if I just put them in a power strip and hung the strips upside down? Could a put up to 12 40 watts into one out outlet in an apartment? I'm aweful with electronics...

My Microwave uses 1300w while it's in use, mind you thats not 12-24 hours a day. And if you can fit them into a powerstrip, as long as they're secure and not touching each other, you should be good, though 8 DOES seem a bit excessive. I'd be more comfortable with 6.

320w is nothing for a power cord. I think i have my computer 350w, sterio 250w, 8 23w CFLs for my lizard cage, and some other cord attached to my power strip. Most are rated to at least 1100w so you can run a space heater.

/e and my monitor of course.

Not a big deal if you can figure out how to set them up properly. With that said, however, If I could go back I would place 2 power strips in my cab, allowing for maximum light dispercancy, 1 power strip kind of limits where you can put your light unless you have a small grow area. Another thing to consider is my original plan was to run with 2 42 watt cfs and 4 27s, I am currently using only the 27s right now for veg, as the box gets WAY TOO HOT with that many cfls on immature plants who cannot absorb the heat.

Use caution and good luck
