IMAG0063.jpgIMAG0062.jpgIMAG0056.jpgNot much amber except for inn the sugar leaves. Mostly milky tho. Calyxes are swollen and most the pistols are receded but they are still a few new ones coming in. The plants are starved out though as you can see.I cut nutes out 2 weeks ago and have also switched to 13 hours dark and gradually dropping temps to mid 50's at dark and 60's during light. Thought I might try to mimic ma nature a little. Lots of amber on the sugrs but the calyxs aren't showing any but lots of milk in there.

I want to get the maximum flavor though and I'm not sure if I should hold off a little longer. Normally I'd chop right now.

I would wait another week. I wouldn't let your temps go lower than high to mid 50's because of an increased chance of mold.

How long from flip...in my experience plants will throw white pistils till the end I wait 10 weeks then chop...always try to go 70 days with fast flowering plants longer if needed...if u look on the buds and once I see 5%amber 90% cloudy and some clear I cut

Is that your Pineapple Express? I know there are different camps out there, but I was wondering if you did want to go 2 more weeks what will she eat? Your fans looks pretty well spent and I'm guessing you're not in hydro since you've been flushing for weeks? I guess I'd be scared the calyx would start to yellow too, with no more food. Most of the signs are there, kinda depends on how ripe you like them. How long have they been in flower for?

8.5 weeks. I always let my plants yellow off but I've never had calyxes yellow. I can chop it anytime I know that, its going to be great smoke anytime from here on. Just want to get maximum flavor.

If you're in no hurry to make room for new plants on deck, then let them go to 9 weeks and start selectively chopping branches that look the most ready. I always get branches towards the middle of the plant that finish up a bit sooner than the tops and the lowers.

ive got 3 plants I let go to 9-10 weeks every harvest. and this is counting my flip time at first sign of flowering (about 10 days). and harvest at 80/10/10 or about.

I'm going for max terpenes... When is that?
they come on strongest at the finish........
-and the cure has allot to do with it

i prefer 'sweating' it in oven bags for best outcome
long and slow

Its too dry to mold.. my rh is so low it won't even register on the hygro lol..
Perfect!! ....low RH at the finish puts out more sugar to protect the plant-
i will let mine go down to 30 or less during finish if i can

the ol hippie proverb is...."if you think its done......wait 2more weeks".......

patience is the key-stump.....

all the weight and lots of the flavors come on stronger at the finish
.....when is that?

--matter of personal prefrence

golf ball them if the top colas are done.......

--you can almost take 3cuttings if you do it right

take the top finished colas that are all milky and amber....

let the next layer golf ball up and put on more weight and girth and finish 'proper'

sometimes you can cut 3times.....for maximum effect

but i can tell you from my experience if you wait you will be surprised
....or experiment and only take some and compare your later cuttings-

if you went this far then it shouldn't hurt to learn something with a little more time
....otherwise yu gotta try again in another 3-4months

good luck!

--to answer your question tho imo.....i always try and wait as long as i can:-P
Last winter i flowered off some sativas that took 'over' 4months--boy did the flavors kick !!

The flavor would depend on the plant. From looks I would say at least a week although any time from now till 2 weeks should be fine. Give it a smell every day and if you feel like the smell is starting to decrease then harvest.

I dont think I'm going to flush anymore. Not PE anyways, I've never had a plant yellow off as fast as these did, way faster than I was expecting. One damn near went from green to yellow in a few days. I don't know if, as has been said, I can let them go another week or two without the plant starting to eat itself too much. I guess I'll just go day by day and see what happens.

I would wait 4-10 days and chop. Wait for some more amber without yellowing off all calyx. The longer the better. I would also stop giving nutes 10 days before I chop in soil not 14+ days. I usually go 70 days from start of flip to finish although my friend goes 63 days max with the same strain. Happy growing pal!

Well I'm at my next dilemma.. my humidifier broke and I'm strapped.. I don't want to hang in 13%humidity. I tried a bucket of water with a towel and fan blowing on it. It isn't doing shit. I have a Vicks hot steam vaporizer woner if that would work?

Maybe strategically clip a couple branches here and there as the weeks pass and try to use them for side by side comparison?

I've used the Vicks steamer in a pinch it should do the trick for you.
