Would you recommend this 1000W HPS?

That light will do it but how much space do you have to grow in?
Keep the tops at least 24" away from light.

Sun System has a 1000 watt dual ballast and fixture so you can switch back and froth betwwen 1000 watt mh or 1000 watt hps. I wouldn't use a hps for veg stage just for flowering.:hump:

Thc for the replies..

I was thinking of this ( CLICK HERE ) T5 rig for vegging and the HPS for the flower room..How would that work out?

Im working with approximately 6-7 ft long, 5-6 ft wide and 5-6 ft high for a flower room/tent ( not sure which yet )..It can be any aize up to that size. Havent built anything yet.Still in the planning stage. I also plan on a veg area the same size or smaller.

keep the suggestions coming.

thx

I'd rather just have a sep area for starting other plants while flowering others. thanks for the suggestion though. As far as "bang for buck" is that veg light i linked to worth it? Or would a 400 watt MH do a better job?

thanks

I use the T-5 for the first 4 weeks after seed pops then I go too 1000 w mh then 4 weeks later to 1000w hps and 400 w mh mix

Also I should add I have 12 ft ceiling so I grow them tall you may not want to let them get that tall so I would cut times to two weeks or 4 nodes on T-5 then to mh.

400w mh will be perfect for mothers and vegging, then throw em in to the 1k hps and you will have a nice little perpetual setup

nice

I was wondering if 1 ( This 1 HERE ) 400W MH light would do as good of a job as this ( LINK > CLICK HERE ) T5 8 bulb ( 4ft ) Kit will do for vegging about 12 plants? My reason asking is the MH is 28K Lum and the T5 is 40K Lum.. Only 2K diff im Lum but a pretty big diff in price.

thx

EDIT> Thx for the reply flojo.. Your reply wasnt there when I made this reply. lol

I would use the T-5 but again it's just my opinion maybe you should wait for more opinions. the 400 mh will cover a 4x4 area

4x4 will be fine.. As long as the 400W will really do well in that space. I think im gonna go w/ 1 400W MH and 1 1000W HPS to start..If the 1 400W MH seems like its not up to snuff then I can always add another 400W MH and it wont even still had cost as much as the T5 set alone.. And I would have almost twice the Lum as the 1 T5 for less $.. But I think the 1 400W will do fine after reconsidering.. I mean, hell im not trying to sell the shit I just want enough to smoke so I dont have to buy it any more ya know?

400 = 3x3
I would go with the t-5's, you don't need all that power of the halide, really... Flipping clones the drag time is the flower room, waiting for that to open up. Almost any lights can veg in that time, even a handfull of regular flouro 4' shoplights.

the only advantage of having a t5 is that it has a larger surface area to fit plants under. when you are in veg it really doesnt matter that much which light you had it under even though the rate of growht may be slightly different because you can just take your clones earlier to accomodate. and with the mh when you take clones you can just put them on the ground away from the light until they root, then once they root put them into pots or whatever and veg them out a little bit until you flower.. getting a mh and a t5 would be a waste of money for your setup IMO
