so I missed all the crazy hacking. Damn.. I had to go paint a house for a few days and missed everything.

i dont use any 700w ballast, just seen they were available in HPS setups. but i mis-understoond the OP, he has 2 400 w setups and was wondering what a 600w bulb would do in it. So in that respect, my 1st reply was correct. the only way to run the 2 600w bulbs would be with a 600w/ballast, a dual 600w ballast, or with a spliter and a 1000w ballast.

yes , i suggested the possibility of a 700w ballast, but because thinking he was wanting to run 2 400w lights, instead of running a 600w light in a 400w ballast.. have a few local guys running dual 600w lights on a single 1000w with a light splitter, think its made by sunleaves.

interestingly enough, ive also seen a 1500w ballast, and not sure what light/s they are supposed to fire.

The issue is that you SUGGESTED A 700W Ballast.
We are not talking about 400W lights, 600s or Dual 600s as you are trying to explain, we are not talking about 1000w lights or the 1500w ballasts.
