So I am writing a paper about marijuana in my health class, I wanted to get some input and ideas for these couple of questions, any comments are appreciated!

[FONT=Arial, Helvetica]What are some effective strategies to reduce use among young adults?

How would you implement these strategies to reach the college population?

If it were me I would be writing a paper on the many medicinal benefits from the use of cannabis...it is a health paper after all.

Those 2 questions have no right answer, because they can not be accomplished. It is something that the government has been trying to do for decades and its just never gonna happen. The "War on Drugs", no matter where it is waged, is a war that will never be won. The only true battlefield against harmful drugs is the home, parents educating their kids on how to make the right choices in life is all the ammo needed to wage this battle.

There has never been a drug free society...ever. And there never will be.:hump:

Be controversial and stand up for what you believe in (if in fact you believe as I hope you do or why the hell are you here?)...take a different approach...marijuana is not a drug.

Marijuana has many medical purposes also. The cannabis extract
was available as a medicine legally in this country until 1937, and
was sold as a nerve tonic-but mankind has been using cannabis
medicines much longer than that. Marijuana appears in almost every
known book of medicine written by ancient scholars and wise men. It is
usually ranked among the top medicines, called 'panaceas', a word
which means 'cure-all'. The list of diseases which cannabis can be
used for includes: multiple sclerosis, cancer treatment, AIDS (and
AIDS treatment), glaucoma, depression, epilepsy, migraine headaches,
asthma, pruritis, sclerodoma, severe pain, and dystonia. This list
does not even consider the other medicines which can be made out of
marijuana-these are just some of the illnesses for which people smoke
or eat whole marijuana today. There are over 60 chemicals in marijuana
which may have medical uses.

Well the thing is, I'm supposed to be objective in that weed is mostly used illegally, and that's why I have the questions listed, I did put information on the benefits of marijuana in my paper, I put pro's and con's of course.
Where did you get the excerpt from?

Yo, fuck that, go against it, no use of marijuana is illegal, its been used for thousand of years and its all fact, chek out jack herer's website, then click the link ''emperor'' then read his book, then go from there and take on the system:)

Uhhh I'm not sure this is a great source haha... talk about biased!! Most people here try to claim that marijuana has absolutely no cons (which I don't agree with, considering I can't remember ANYTHING any more), so this reaaaally isn't the right audience to ask.

That being said, informing people of the truth (the HONEST pros and cons of marijuana, not the gov't propaganda version) is the only way to let people make the right choices for them. And it has to come from a decent source, such as parents, rather than dumbass health teachers.

The only stratedy that needs to be addressed is what examples that are set by parents. Yes, we all know that some parents suck, what about orphans, blah blah balh....but if we are given the proper tools as children to make choices in our life that will better our lives as grow, that is the only strategy we need. Drug abuse, mental and physical abuse, family violence, the list could go on and on, these are all ills that can be solved with having a loving and caring, emotionally productive homelife and upbringing. For the most partthese are learned traits. It all starts in the home.

If you can accomplish the answer to question, it wll make question 2 an question that would never have to be asked
