Hello community :) Clones have always been my weak point and I have been trying to master it to a T. Now that I grow for others I HAVE to rely on clones and there is little room for error Im afraid.

So anyhow I have noticed my clones turning yellow and what seems to be dying off. Here is the info.

NYCD/Never cloned

2 weeks 4 days from cut

currently and recently feeding quarter strength nutes with PH of like 5.5 or a lil higher.

No visible Roots

Temps 75 80 F

Humidity has been cut back and am testing for wilting leaving hood off as I type to see if anythig has rooted.

Thats about all I can think of. If you need more info please ask and I will get back ASAP.

THANKS !!!!

This is just my opinion and from my experience you probally shouldent feed nutes untill you can at least see roots, I would wait untill the clone has perc'ed up and started noticable growth and I keep the dome over the plants untill I see roots, giving them a nice misting every day. I use soil tho not sure if thoses cubes are diffrent.

Yeah Im sure soil is different being that you have all your plants food in the "soil". My media lacks anything the plant can feed from. Buuuut they do not eat from anything but leaf until there are roots so guess that might not really mean anything in the beginning of the cutting stage right ? Any how Ive come to terms that it takes whatever time it takes for a root to grow and SHOW itself. But that is to show itself. A root is still a root and its within my media if I see it or not right ? Thus it needs to feed ??? Im torn between two theories of whats fucken me up. I feed after two weeks and thats to early hurting them, though I dont see burn ? Oooor I am leaving the dome on and misting after they have rooted though not visible rooted, and I am doing harm this way. Man its a headache.

THANKS for the reply and I hope to see you peek in on the current grow :)

i was told leave the dome on for 2 day vents closed, then take the dome off and mist a couple times a day till rooted...i cut clones for the first time last week out of 8 3 already have roots or i should say starting roots...there also yellowing but theres new growth also...

there's a gazillion threads on cloning. do you have some sort of heat mat under the tray? you want to keep your temps. around 80. you also want to make sure the cubes are not cold. this time of year, the air temp in the dome may be right, and the cubes can be cold. i use a heating/muscle pad on low. i dangle a digi temp gauge in the dome so i know if it's o.k. in there. take the dome off 2x a day to give them some fresh air and mist if you like. nutes at this point are useless. you also don't want 1/4 strength nutes at this point either. could burn your newly formed roots. those are some strange looking cubes. to see if you're getting roots (after 2 weeks, you should have plenty!) gently (gently!) tug on the cutting. if there are roots, it'll stay put. remember, GENTLY! also, the yellowing that your getting is a good indicator there is root production....
