o it says right there it comes with a 240v power cord..
you need http://www.hydrofarm.com/pb_detail.php?itemid=1348
O Ok I c wat your saying. That cord will run it also?? How would I use the 240v cord??
the 240v is like euro or somewhere else.. 110 and 220 is us power standards.. i don't really know where 240 comes from.. but you could cut the end off that plug and wire in a normal plug end from a heavy duty extension cord..

edit: o maybe 240 is the same as 220 basically .. i just googled it and ppl have 240v wired in US too..

STOP, STOP, STOP!

First, what voltage does the ballast run on ? 110 or 220 ?
Look at a power cord for an older computer monitor. Some of those have cords for 110v similar to ballasts. Avoid splicing unless you know what you are doing. If your on this sight , look around places like E-bay for the right power cord. Never under estimate having the proper equipment.

IF its not a dual voltage balast it won't get as bright as its suposed to if you try to run it off of 110v.........

Sounds like a UK 220 volt plug. The way they work is the bottom plug on the ballast goes to the power and the top plug with the 3 prongs goes from the ballast to the bulb. If you have the ballast you just need the right cords. Check out hydrofarm ballast online. Cords are available at most hydro stores online or not. Make sure the ballast is wired for 120volts if thats what you are going to use. Most newer ballast can use 120 or 220 volts you just use a different cord. Dont modify or cut the cords it can cause a fire hazard. Plus most are shielded so they dont cause interferance with radios and televisions. 220 volt cords are different then 120volt cords. The proper cords are pretty cheap and much safer.

Thats wat i was thinking. If i can just buy the right cord I would rather do that I just didnt kno which one would work or where to get it.
