remind the female that her brain is a mere 1/3 the size of our man brains, and that we built the eiffel tower out of steel...and braun...lol i always go by when they begin to wilt mildly, not to be confused with tips turning down indicating too much water

Its only wrong if they do not need it. After you water the pots lift them and remember how heavy they feel. Then when you lift them again later, they should feel much lighter. Then water.
Or you can watch them close and wait for them wilt abit, then water. That should give you hint at how many days inbetween waterings. Just water one day sooner than it took them wilt. It wont stay the same through the entire grow but will give you some marks to go by.

I water mine every day or 2 days. Of course they have holes in the bottom so excess water drains out. This is what works best for me, there are a lot of factors that would determine watering schedule
