Yea Water, but from a well?

Hey, currently using the bubbleponics system with tap water and nutrients of course, but today changing my res I decided to use my well water. The PPM of the tap is about 198 with an average PH of 6.8 while this well water has PPM levels of roughly 420-430 and a ph of about 6.9...

Never used the well water before. Any ideas on what might be in it to cause the ppm to be so high? Also should I be worried about nute burn because of this?

Just started using sub culture M, and B, with aquaashield. Will it be affected by the well water? Someone school me with what I need to hear...

higher ppm because, its unfiltered...

tap water is filtered in many ways, treated, etc.. limited to a certain ppm at the tap.

i know of large-scale hydro setups that swear by using well water and not having to adjust it versus tap water. Sort of depends on how your numbers are.

so, i am not at all commenting on whether YOUR well's #'s are good or not, some one else here can say if ~430ppm and 6.9pH is good or not.

edit: btw, wahts going to be in it is like calcium, iron. HOWEVER, should be ZERO sodium flouride.

I use well water. 300 ppm's, and 6.8 ph. After adding nutes, I knock it down quite a bit. I find that the plants love it. I used to use distilled and RO, but it's a bit expensive with 80 total gallons to work with.

Just watch for stress, and you may want to consider using a nutrient forumla that allow you to make adjustments in the minerals already present in your natural water. If you're working on the cheap side, Ionic hard water formula is a good pick.

That is pretty high, especially for hydro. It will probably make your life more difficult because you have unknown concentrations of unknown ions in your well water. Same with the tapwater, really, but your tapwater isn't as hard. You could have your well water analyzed and make adjustments to your nutrient formulations but sometimes the levels of minerals can fluctuate a bit depending on the time of year. Personally, I would prefer to use r/o or something with a very low ppm, that way I can control EXACTLY what the plants are getting instead of playing a guessing game.:weed:
