my baby plant is showing signs of yellowing at the very tip of the leaf. it doesn't look dried out or fried, but more like instead of green, it's sort of yellow on the surface of the leaf. what's the word?

yep yep yep
I agree
I have been using warm cfl's uknowingly. (42 watt 2700k)
All my plants are now 6-8" tall (15ds from seed)
I have backed the warm to about 8-9 inches and got 18w 6500 about 1" from plants.
Overnight I noticed a diff. It was like they woke up or something. All the leaves that were drooping a little perked up and I swear it seems like they are taller.
Could just be the wake and bake though.
I think I am going to pull 2 of the 3 x 42 watt 2700k's and replace them with y splitters and 4 x 27w 6500k.
Yeah I was not sure if it was nute burn (time release pot soil) or the light.
I have come to the conclusion it is the light.,
I am guessing that I have not really done major damage.
The plants look really healthy just have burnt spots.
I think I can nurse them to thrive with the help I have got frm the site.
Peace and plant seeds.

Why would warm CFL's cause a yellowing of the leaves. I have some yellowing and was told it was a pot(assium) deff. My lights are not closer than 2" away and have a fan blowing on them so I don't see how they could be burning.

I ask because I am using warm white CFL's until my HPS arrives (if it ever does!)

For some reason the warm Cfl's are so far into the red compared to the blue (cool cfl's) that they will burn by amount and spectrum of light. I have seen it happen at 3 1/2"s if left not moving light or plant.
Yeah I have a fan going too.
