Yet another milky/amber thread (different, I promise)

So this being my first grow and it's coming to an end, I've been reading tons. The goal is all milky - milky with amber. So I was told some strains won't go amber. How is a first time grower supposed to know when to harvest then? My 2 headbands have been 100% milky for 3 weeks now. Am I still waiting for amber or will they not turn?

Another question is on curing. After trimming and manicuring my branches, I'll be hanging then in a closet 72 degrees for days and checking on them daily and weighing them. As soon as they almost stop losing wait, I'll cut from stem and mason jar them in the same closet burping them every 24 hours? Anything at all I'm leaving out? The general smell and hardness of my buds will be pretty close to how they feel/smell the first day they go into jars right? I expect a change weeks after curing but most of this change comes during drying?

Thanks :)

You will need to keep an eye on your humidity, if it is too low you will dry your buds too fast and the end result will not be what you want. If the humidity is to high you will be risking mold. just check the buds for dryness, no need to weigh. Once the outside is crispy but the inside is still a little moist it is time to start. If you wait too long to start your cure the end result will again not be what you want. Check out ganjaluvrs guide that is sticky'd at the top of the harvesting and curing section for drying and curing info.
