Yield difference: 5x5 tent 1000hps vs 4x4 tent 600hps

Say I'm getting 14ozs in the 4x4 tent under a 600 hps. How many more oz's would I get in a 5x5 1000hps?

I think he means that both lights give about the same intensity in that space. 1000w/25sqft= 40watts per square feet. 600w/16sqft=37.5 watts per square foot.
Exactly. Plus, even moderate changes in watts/sq ft are very minor compared to changes in total sq ft, or number of plants or correct PH or good temp range, humidity control, etc etc. Growing techniques far outweigh lights as far as effect on yields.

PLus, watts/sq ft doesnt take into account how close the lights are tot he canopy. The inverse square law has at least as much effect on DLI as total wattage - actually more.

300 grams to 600 grams under the 600w, 500 grams to 1000 grmas under the 1000w. Depending on grower skill.

Here's a video of a 600 watt and 1000 watt LED from the same manufacturer. They produced in proportion to the wattage:

I'm growing a strain now that doesn't have any larpy or "fluffy lower bud really. My best strain not to have that.... Its also the best weed of all time I'm told.... However its a below avg yielder.

Gonna be interesting with this strain bc I would top 2 plants in the 4x4 under the 600 and get 12oz's... Now i let 4 plants grow naturally and really packed them in and it looks like I'm gonna get more... Really 3 plants and 1 smaller 1.

get

if you improve your growing, 1 gram per watt under HPS is easily doable. so you should be getting closer to 21 zips under the 600
I wouldn't say 1 gram per watt is easily doable, I'm not sure anyone else would say that either... I can get .75 with a good yielding strain.

I should change out my 600 to a 1000 in 1 tent. My tents are only 6 feet tall bc my basement isn't that tall. How many more inches do you usually have to keep a 1000 watt away from the canopy compared to a 600 watt.

Need about 8" minimum under my 1000's. (Edit...se. air cooled hoods.)

You should optimize your 600 before moving to 1k. It’s a big difference heat and light wise. When you’re pulling more than 600 grams from your 600 in your 4x4, get a 1k for the 4x4, when you can’t fit anymore weed in your 4x4, get a 5x5...

Im not how to optimize it any more.... The plants I'm growing in the 4x4 are bad yielders.. Like I said above I when from 2 topped plants to 4 normal grown plants, I can already seen at week 5 the yield is gonna be bigger with the 4 plants packed in.

.

The 1000 watt is kept 29" away from the 4'x4' canopy, I don't have the figures for 600 watt. I keep my 200 watt 21" above the canopy in my 3x3 veg tent.

if you run CO2 and maximize your enviro, i think it's doable. don't sell yourself short.
