Yield from COB's

I just finished my first grow ever (under any lighting). I think I experience just about every issue one can encounter and made just about every mistake as well. Needless to say, my yield was disappointing to say the least. I only got 2 oz off from one plant and 2.5 oz off another. I had to destroy the other two plants that I had growing due to powdery mildew issues.

So, I am curious to hear what others (with more experience than me) are yielding from each of their girls under COB lighting.

Here is my setup. (24) 3590's, 3500K, running at 49W ea., space 1'3" apart.

Wow. Sweet light setup. With 1200w of cobs you should be abe to get 1200g once you figure it out. You must have had some tough breaks in your grow. Good luck next time

Sorry to hear of your bad luck. You definitely have the right setup light wise to have some hellacious grows. I would be spraying down that room with peroxide and bleach to kill that pm. And break out the ever faithful eagle 20 on your clones and veg plants. Kill it now or it will haunt you.

I have yet to complete a run with my lights but it seems at least 1/gpw is the norm an above is not uncommon. Of course strain, topping/training and an uncomplicated, dialed in grow make huge differences.

Also, kudos to you for going balls out on your first go round. It must be nice to have a strong budget. Just know that it will (should) get all better from here on out.

What drivers?

I use the MW hlg-185-c700a

So you run 6? Or is it capable of 7 cobs per driver?

I actually only run 4 cobs per driver

I love how you just snugly fit 2 cxb 3590's on a small 12"x what, 10"? Heatsink, passively. Only having 60 watts per each sink. Its genius to use this way for passive cooling but just having SO MANY.

So you're wasting money then because the HLG-120H-C700 can run 4 basically perfectly. Did you just wanna leave extra room in case you upgrade or what?

Nah, I didn't confuse them. I just didn't look at your pic well enough. I thought the middle of it as you can see just the 2 on the end of a heatsink, I thought they were all that way. Still thiugh, 240 watts passively on a 10x36 works great too. But why not use 2 120's rather than 2 185's?

I got a great deal on them in bulk believe i paid like 32 bucks apiece

Holy shit, from where?!?! That's such a good deal for HLG-185H-C700's. You use A or B models?

I use the A models and yeah it was a bargain group closeout buy. I bought 50 at the time.lol

You might want to read up on using uv light for sterilization. There are some youtube videos of people using handheld units in their grow rooms on a regular basis.
