.5, so 500 per plant under "decent "/good comditionskiss-ass

Wrong, wattage per gram is TOTAL NET DRY WEIGHT, not per plant. See NoDrama's post.

One more thing to add, when they say 1 gram per watt, they are saying total dried weight. doesn't matter if you got 100 plants or 1 plant, you still only got a 1000 watt light in there so no matter how many plants you got you did really good if you get 500 grams. 1/2 gram/watt is your basic grower who actually knows what he is doing. 1 gr/watt and you are a fucking bona fide green thumb. if you can make 1.25 g/watt you should be in charge of some agricultural phenomenon cuz you is the shiznit.

If your a first time grower and you are starting in hydro and you did a good job with a 1000w HPS and had no problems to speak of you will be lucky to get 300 grams total dried weight, noone just walks in reads a few posts and goes out and starts pulling poundage from day 1 with a hydro system.

The sun provides about 10,000 watts per square meter at the equator, as you can see even Mother nature doesn't get the 1/2 g/watt and she has millions of years experience.
Excellent post. I wanted to repeat it in it's entirety so the confusion above it was not the last thing read.

-- edit --

I'm about to harvest my very first plant using a 400W HPS and I think I can squeeze 2 oz out of it dry.

But I've also got a bunch of other plants under that light.

9 pages later Sanifsan has yielded 0g per watt i read every word in great anticipation awaiting the grand 5 pound yield and i was let down ... no yield ... where have you gone i would like to see your real life yield on this so that you can give us the definative answer on what you actually harvested

Not really man indicas can actually yield a lot more if the right technique is used Like LST or SOG. Sativas tend to have lighter buds that are streached out. Also a big factor is the strain.

damn that sucks for me.... i was hoping to get atleast 600 grams off a single plant and im running a 430watt HPS. I guess it would depend more so on strains right? Is it true that sativa's normally yeild more?

Chronic, Depend where you got your seeds at, Flowering and Veggie Plays big roll in yield. The more you veggie the bigger your plant gets. So there is really not to estimate for your plants Its all what you do.

Just thought I would post my newbie results. 4 seeds - only one female :( 400 Watts - MH then HPS for flowering. Veg for about 2 months (little too long) and the plant grew to 5 ft. Flowered for about 2 more months and just got done drying. Total weight was 3 OZ or about 85 grams. For a first time grow I don't think I did too bad. Would have been more if those darn seed were female...

What's tough is I could not imagine starting with 36 plants the first time around. I had so many spills and other newbie mistakes that I am sure I would kill them all with that many or have to had quit my job to manage those babies...

My first grow, 12 plants aero, 1 month veg, 2 months flower, 14oz total dry. pretty sure 2nd grow will = 2lbs. w/ 18 plants same format since I now no so much more than my first grow. Soil though, for your first time w/ 36 plants I'd say you get 1/2oz ea. plant 18oz dry. IMO.

lol hey guys - i know this is an indoor discussion but what i've got out of it is:

on averge, a realistic dry weight for an indoor plant = 1oz.

if the same "conditions" apply (strain etc), what would one expect of an an outdoor plant? roughly 7ft

can some give me an advice on which strain best to grow if u want a high yield but at the same time potency? i'm gonna start very soon i bought a grow tent (4Lx8Wx7H) using 2 600 Watt HPS/ SOG method 40 pants in total/ ebb and flow system. no not sure about co2 yet.

i'm gonna be using M-39 cuz thats the only clones i can get untill i decide on a strain thats has more quility

stains i heard of with high in yield
northern lights
skunk
chonic
big bud ( not sure if its strong enough)
AK 47

looking for a strain with 1gm/watt

please help

what aeroponic system did u use? and what was the dimension of it....Thank you

Theres plenty of variables thet effect the yield of the plant though. Your looking at the genetics, the type of environment you have, how well the set up is and everything.

you are talking about flowering per plant in a 1000 watt environment. I know this post is late but I could not help myself. I have plenty of experience and knowledge I do not care to talk about however, in order to fit 1 plant per square foot they would have tp be flowered at a height of approx 1 foot tall before they get too bushy and crowd each other. You can get 7 pounds out of one plant of the correct strain in direct sunlight in the perfect conditions. this plant is over 15 feet tall and 10 feet wide in order to accomplish this and also takes all summer. I have never seen even the best horizontal parabolic hood produce a footprint large enough to produce the same plant. Not to mention the superiority of the sun, but also the inferiority of 1000 watt bulbs especially while stretching the footprint so far. calculate lumen degradation over distance and lumens per produced harvest. Your mind doesn't even contain enough of the variables involved to even consider how foolish your comments have been. maybe now you know and can come back and have a laugh.

this thread is the biggest train wreck I've ever seen!!!! :wall: So painful... but you gotta look!

Had to bump it again for sheer comic value. And to those who tried to interject common sense in there: Well done sirs.:clap::clap: you have much more patience than I!!

But seriously, how much weed do i get from like 40 plants and some light?
