Personally after reading and extensive research on many different mediums, methods, and mixes I chose soil FFHF to be exact. I understood the 'higher risk' of molds, pests, viruses, diseases etc. But, I felt that if soil works for God it is ok for me as well. Besides I am not a chemist, botanist, or educated in horticulture. I am just a simple guy growing his own meds and therefore I wanted to stay with the K.I.S.S. theory. My first grow was successful and so have all the others since.

How about you?

I pulled the trigger too soon and used crappy potting soil. They were autos so I couldn't transplant but I knew I had screwed up after about 2 weeks. No drainage, insects. Then the soil was too hot for the autos, I didn't know when the nutes in the soil ran out so I fed them too early. Then I realized I had fed too early and then waited too long to feed again. It was a horror show. I'm now using pro mix hp and much happier.

you would do well to have something like promix on hand bc the happysoil is hot which is good for older plants w extensive root systems but not for seedlings. that was my only thought but soil rocks. soil is full of life. critters that u can see and ones u cant see. but its the ecosystem of all these live things that is soil. its a medium that has helped plants flourish for 4 billion years
there are books about soil u can get free pdf downloads even so read a few

I started with promix bx and my first crop was shit. Overwatered and had every problem in the book.
If I could do it over, I would have used fox farms ocean forest. It drains really well, and every time you transplant, you get fresh nutes from the soil. Start adding FF Big Bloom half way through flower & your buds should turn out fantastic.

this is my 1 grow, started from seed, sensi seeds super skunk, with http://www.goldlabel.nl/ soil, nutes, ph+/-, so far I'm happy, I had a few newbie problems, overwater than underwater, ph fluctuations, only parasite seen so far are fungus gnats and I thank god for that, but my ladies are quite resilient, they're doing well now, and in a few days I start 12/12
happy growing :)
