oh shit! mayday mayday!!! luckily i just ordered some stuff to build my first 3 COB light. about 300 w total. might have to replace that MH before I get too deep into flower. I'm only week 3 right now.

thanks for letting me know that! might be my new veg light instead.
If I only used the 2 600's I would still try the blue and Super hps together but with more overlap. I think with the cmh in there too I just have too much blue.

The university of Utah has shown 50/50 blue to red more like the sun has benefits to growth and thc but I wonder if bag appeal and weight is even considered in quality.

I have no choice but to consider it.

The buds taste and smell better and are frostier for sure with the metal halide. But smaller and fluffier like everyone always said.

I will get the ratio and spacing right one of these days :-)

Hello RIU!

Bare with me. I know, I know, lots of information out there and before you criticize me just be aware I want an updated opion based thread for 600w ballasts with YOUR EXPERIENCES and testimonies to the 600w ballasts you use. I have done my research. I have my own and although I am always in the market for new gear, I always like to hear from you all and what you use. I will admit, this was a friendly yet heated debate between a friend of mine and myself about our top 3 RIGHT NOW and although I only use 600's in my mother tents (he uses only 600's), I am merely looking to hear your experiences and if possible, gain knowledge since that is why we are all here. Please remember, I am asking for opinions on 600w ballasts, NON-Double ended, to be used with standard MH/HPS. I myself have used everything from crappy revolt dimmables to my current Phantom II's. I do love my Phantom II's that are occupying my two mother tents at the moment. Lumatek, Solistek, Quantum (haha), you name it. What do you use?
and to answer your question,, Solis Tek was my choice.

probably the most addictive hobby i've tried. searching for that pot nirvana!
I don't look at it like a hobby anymore. Ever since Mrs. MMG has had her cysts proven to be reduced by our buds I have really taken cannabanoid production very seriously.

The full effects I am getting now from the same seeds I grew last year is very noticeable. I let them mature longer and I fertilize and water every plant individually to its specific needs so I can keep growing different strains to harvest variety all the time.

I have learned that since we are not making specific medication in a lab the best way to treat illness and disease with marijuana is to get the widest array of cannabanoids in the patient as possible.

So we make our edible oil from 3-4 strains or crosses at once and continually switch up what smoke we are enjoying.

Her doctor thought she had someone else's ultrasound and had to go check. She has had no treatment but pot and has suffered her whole life from her illness.

And it is self correcting now because of a plant.

And we love to get high.

I love this shit!

I have a few Lumatek multi bulb ballast that you can swap in a 400 , 600 or 1000w bulb.

It also does Super lumens with 1000w bulb.

I'll add they do not throw rf interference when you use the proper high voltage hood cord.

Its cheap hood cable that was causing issues for people with these ballasts.

I run a pair of 600w ipower digital dimmables, and have done so for....10+ yrs now I guess.... I have had 2 failures, both barely within warranty time...

(I now keep a 16in fan on ALL my ballasts, and use an air compressor to dust out the fans monthly on the digi's)

I love them, I stand by them. Cheap, but reliable.
On your ipower electronic 600 watt ballasts....was the problem the fans going out? Because ive heard once the fan goes....the circuitry goes as well. And what is the warranty on those ipowers? 5 yrs? I ask because ive had a bunch of Digital Greenhouse (HTG) 600 watt ballasts i sold to my cousin that i got a good 8 years of use out of (constant 12 - 12 and a shit ton of buds in that time) and they are still going strong 2 yrs later. Way passed the 5 year warranty. 3 years + 2 prorated. UL listed. Works fine. Every one of them. (5) Truth be known....all these ballasts are made in the same handful of Chinese factories using the same componets. I chose the cheapos years ago on a chance and if i ever go back to single ended HID electronic ballasts again...iam going with HTG...IPower...Revolt or Apollo. Any of the cheapos. Imhe...they work great and are very inexpensive.

Oh btw...from 10 years of use and the fans sucking all that shit....there arw dirty as hell in there. But they work just like new. My cousin uses these with a bunch of 315 cmh lamps and she cranks out buds month after month.

I know one for sure was a matter of not cleaning them, dust killed the fan, cooked it up was in a basement of smokers home w/ 6 dogs n 2 cats... never stood a chance.

Thank you. I am so happy to see her actually see a chance of getting better.

And no I don't have a proper journal. I just randomly post around. Nothing special going on here except growing every plant individually to its potential the best I can. And being patient enough to really get a good array of canabanoids out of great genetics.

I have plenty to learn and way more work to do.

I have posted in club 315 often for the last few months. And I show harvests and strains in a thread called random thread to show pics in from a grower called motorbuds.

I bounce around another well known forum as well as mimedgrower.

I worked in natural medicine as an account manager for a few years in Colorado. We produced and supplied eye doctors with homeopathic eye drops and specially formulated vitamins to help restore vision to those with cataracts and macular degeneration. Naturally.

I became a true believer in homeostasis when a 90 something old woman called me to tell me the eye drops and vitamins had worked after a year and she got her drivers license back.

She was certified blind from macular degeneration for over 10 years but loved to drive and was determined.

That part. The drive to be better. Is more important than the natural medicine even pharmaceutical meds sometimes.

My mom beat lymphoma after the doctors told her it was hopeless and to cash in her life insurance.

She demanded continued radiation but she and we all believe it was her determination that gave success.

Peace.
