Your experiences with Stretch duration

Hey Hey,

Looking for some feedback and example of stretch duration you have observed during stretch. First a little info:

Growing Purple Pineberry - Indica dominate strain
Growing DWC under LED drawing 255 watts
They are grown SCROG
Advanced Nutrients 3 part with some extras

I have tried to close the gap between night and day temps, but given how cold it have been literally only since I flipped to flower (go figure) the temp drifts from 75 during the light period to 65 during the dark. No room for a heater in the cab

I flipped to 12/12 December 28th, so this Wednesday will mark the Beginning of Week 3 of flower.

I can raise the light about 3 more inches, but given the limitation of the cabinet, no higher. I am hesitate to raise it now as I don't want them to stretch for the light and I am not seeing burn.

FWIW the recommended distance from the MFG is 18 inches, which I passed awhile ago.

My question is, in your experience, should the majority of my stretch be over? Currently the canopy is 12 inches from the light. I am afraid If they grow any higher I will get some burn and secondarily the light footprint will continue to shrink.

I have supercropped some of the taller branches, which has helped but the canopy continues to rise.

Should most of the stretch be over?
Would you be concerned at this point?
In your experience, how longer do you see substantial stretch?

The stretch should be over. I give it 3 weeks just to be safe but it's probably more like 2.5. Stretch will depend on genetics and phenotypes.
Height wise you'll see almost nothing to 3x. Width wise probabaly the same. They really bulk up quickly. I had height issues so I supercropped a lot. I then upgraded height wise so now it's not an issue.
The first pic is a few days into flower. They all went in at the same size-ish.
The second pic is one of the plants in the back from the first pic. You can compare against the 40" tomato cage. That's a 3x stretch.

Beautiful plants, well done. Looks like I have some more super cropping in the near future. I will be thrilled if I get out of this without burning or having to top the girls, topping obviously would be a last minute hail Mary, so I hope it doesn't come to that

So far they have close to doubled in size, and may actually be a little beyond doubled, its kind of hard to gauge with the scrog, I have growth in every direction and then some. Other than supercropping, blue light, closing the gap on day/night temps and keeping the light close - are they any trade secrets for limiting stretch? I know there are inhibitors like bushmaster, but I think I am too late for that.

Big worm gorilla spirit. They did bush out alot. Those two pretty much filled my 4x4 tent. A little bit over 2x stretch. I think I flipped at like 15" and 17" both were over 3' I harvested plant on right at 8 weeks. Big one still going.

I'd say in the future you'll have to be aware of what you're planting. Obviously anything sativa dominant won't be for you.
You might look into manifolding. Requires a longer veg time but it works with the right strains. I ran ghost train haze #1 and manifolded it. I came out with 6 solid spears 120g. I also did an indica but she didn't do so well.

Right, this was the first time with this strain, and I flipped it when the screen was about 45% full. Given that it is indica dominant I figured it was extremely conservative. Certainly learned from the experience!
