Your Opinion on GreenHouse Seed Co. strains/germination/phenos/quality/value

Hey there everyone. I brought this post up because after reading "this and that", and crazy "fish tales" about them I thought Id get you, the growers to give your opinions. One of these tales said a man bought 30 feminised and all turned hermie and he said he didnt stress them, but when I asked to see his pictures he had every excuse in the book. I see this kind of radical bashing all the time. So you guys and gals out there, lers hear your side of the story, we already know Arjan's and Franco's side of the story.

I use all seed brands, but last time I bought seeds I got a mixed colored pack. I always research my seeds/strains/growing before the seeds get to me, not learning alone the way. I was appalled by some of the "fish tales" and some were amazing stories of success. What I kept noticing was those who had great things to say about GHSC had fact and proof to back why they swear by them. Those who bashed, gwaked, stepped on GHSC had no fact, no proff and had never used them. Mind you those who did have GHSC seeds grow into veg and flowering said how aweful their plants looked and how scrawny and how many turned male and hermie... but no pictures, always excuses.

Heres my experiences... I use all seeds from all different companies. I bought single seeds of lemon skunk and big bang with dinafem white siberian. All GHSC popped as well as dinafem. They all grew healthy and are just about done. Then I ordered 10 more GHSC big bang, 3 church and I go Barneys Farm LSD 5 pack. I got 55% germ rate on GHSC and 50% Barneys Farm. I figured it was a bad seed stock so I just got my Indica mix H from GHSC. After talking to all of the poeple I could find that were growing or have grown GHSC, it scared me. They were having the same germination rate as my 55% then losing a plant or two down the road.
So I got my seeds in and nervously started germination. Mind you they have the color coating, but still trainwreck popped in 10 hours with all the rest popping the following 2 days.
They look like healthy seedlings now too.

100% germination rates and healthy looking seedlings on this current grow gets my spirits up but I want to know what you guys think!

I want to know from anybody, what was your experience with your strains (yeah I want to know how all those strains are from the ones that have been around with them forever, but the new ones are like the meat on the bone. I also want to know how the rest of your grow went from seedling to flower and your experience with it.

I would also LOVE to hear about any abnormal or different phenotypes you had, the quality, your thoughts on it, with it being a different phenotype improving yields/quality or decreasing yields/quality.

Maybe a grow report on how you felt about your overall grow... smoke report... final yield.

All I really want to know is what your true feelings are towards their seeds.

I really DONT want to hear GHSC bashing, the politics surrounding them because, duh none of us really know. Just give me your experience with their products and if they really do perform like they say.

Final Note: (i promise) If you can post pictures please do so! :) The more the merrier. I myself have plenty of pictures of my babies just so noone thinks im on GHSC's bandwagon/promoter or that I havent ever used them and am just trying to give them hype.

Thanks everybody! Ill be back in to see what yall have to say because in the end stoners run this industry and if someone has bad products the company wont last.

I will tell you what I know about GHS seeds after growing after growing several strains. These are usually the backbone of my garden. I have yet to see anything extrodinary about them but all the haorror stories you see, usually from people that have never grown them, are simply false. I have had 1 trainwreck just stop growing one day and I have had horrible luck with Church but I have grown WW,WR, El Nino, AMS, lemon skunk, cheese and big bang all with good results.

bigv1976 :thats exactly what im noticing with the strains i have that are mature. i have a big bang thats an odd ball pheno that grows exactly like pure northern lights. i have yet to see anything that blows anything else out of the water, but theyre nice plants. nothing like the one story i heard about all 30 plants turning hermie. they are becoming the backbone of my garden now too. hey that trainwreck that stopped growing... how far did it get before it did that? i have one growing and thats going to be my pride and joy, i just want to know what to look for in case it does this.

Grownewibe: that makes me really happy to hear about that white rhino. im looking for the medical value for my chronic back pain so im hoping for a good yield. with that el nino, how was the smoke/effects of it? would you classify it as a medically valued smoke like the other white widow crosses? i know its basically white shark with haze in it, but i dont like the racy sativa head high so im just curious how it is because we all love thick resin coated nugs :). how long has your lemon skunk been going? i have one right now thats 5 weeks into flowering and greenhouse says its an 8 week strain. mine looks like it could use another full 5 weeks although it does have very thick nugs. its about 3 1/2 feet tall in my indoor garden so i could only imagine how awesome it would be outdoors.

thanks for your imput! hopefully this will help others in their decisions in strains as it has helped me!

I grew big bang. five seeds, five girls!! Just that alone impressed me!! I trip on the stories about how arjan stole shantis stuff, and why its better to get from mr.nice. If youre like me, u just want good high grade premium crops that you do not have to get off some dealer. I live in the midwest usa with no medical provisions!! So for us to just be able to get good genetics is a miralce. I have grown nirvanas fem nl, and dutch passion fem master kush. Both hermied on me!! Was not pleased. Then you read on and you find that dp and nirvana are famous for that!! From what Ive read GHS fems when not stressed are gonna produce. Personally I dont know arjan, franco, shantibaba, or any other seed breeder or dealer. I just want good quality products from whom ever I purchase from!! After my big bang experience, I have got more of their gear. Ktrain, Alaskan Ice, White Widow, and White rhino. Looking forward to growing these babies

i think the super lemon haze has the best value of their strains. reasons being that mine have always grown out long and scraggly as a pheno, but still yielded well; also the potency tends to be more sativa-leaning.
i know they also do a white rhino but for that i prefer mr. nice genetics.

just stuck 4 girls from a 5 pack in rooters friday, haze #1 was first out, I see the wr's taproot, hoping the #3 HAZE AND A.M.S will be up when I get home. will keep updated.

Green House Seeds has a handful of strains that are good values. I am not saying any are top genetics, and some in the line are not really all that good, but some of them, for the price pay you do receive a good product and a value for your bucks.

man i know this was in the graveyard but i sincerely apologize. as already said in the midwest theres no medical mj help, and very apparantly in the east theres no hope either. i had an encounter that was unpleasant to say the least. about 30 feet and a door stood between the cop and the crop. (edit-they werent there for anything negative about me they were just asking about seeing people trying to break in cars at night. but thats still too close to me. luckly i have a good filter and an ozone gen.)

i apologize to everyone that contributed.

after reading them all i get the same feeling about GHSC having good genetics (they have variations just like any breeder) at an affordable price as far as fem. seeds and those horror stories are on the hype wave of hate. Theyre all breeders and theyre all each others competition. as far as hermies, i had ripped out an indica mix h (because of the incident) and all said and done i ripped 5 out of 10 out. well they had been 30min in the hot sun, stems broken and everything. i replanted them, nutured them and now theyre the healthiest looking. ill be posting the pics in my next post tomorrow. trainwreck and wrhino did die... but a cheese and 2 gwshark thriving and no hermies! so personally, i have a story of some strong healthy strains.i just got another indica mix h 10pack because the price, fem., and i love the strains.

as far as the big bang that really is a nice crop all round. the phenotype i had (i posted a thread with pics) was more towards a hazy NL's plant in growing pattern flowering and the high. its a peppery taste n woodsy with a strong stone followed by a head high that lasts. and mine took almost 12 weeks to flower. the other 2 are skunky with a strong indica kick thatll knock you down and are 8-10 weekers. and best of all... 10 fems are like 45 dollars.
