OK, so, I'm fairly new to this and have been doing bits and pieces of research online. I would like to know, in general, what is your favourite strain and why ... and if you are in the USA can you recommend a website to buy seeds from?

im in the same boat. im new to this website so *HIGH* everybody Id also like to know some info on the strains avail today.. particularly info on the type of high that is delivered to the body/mind.. maybe some short 'trip experiences' based on variety smoked? Also maybe pros/cons of growing the strain.. and which are indicas and which are sativas? The reason im askin for all this info is cuz recently some nice person (i hope its not fuzz) on a shroom board i visit had made some offer to send the first few people who messaged him back 10seeds of 1strain only out of his collection. so... i found a empty house to send it to.. cant say more than that.. anyway if the seeds get through customs etc.. i might have to grow outside cuz i have no indoor place as of yet to grow.. but maybe by the time they arrive i will have an indoor place.. who knows. This is the list i was told to pick from and im going to pick two just in case my 1st choice is unavail.. Ohh one more thing.. id like to make hash too

Im with the 3 of you on this one. Its hard buying seeds in the USA. Im currently using seeds I got out of a bag a some regs i picked up. I guess its good to learn anyway, i wouldnt want to ruin good seeds.

My friend just picked up a 1/2ounce of purple haze so im praying thier might be one seed or something. I highly doubt it, but you never know.

we must sound so funny ... usually people are pissed when there's seeds in the bags and they end up smoking one or having to pick them out. Here we are 'I HOPE THERE'S SEEDS IN IT' lol

I've decided to order some seeds today from a supplier I was recommended and who seem to have their act together.

The only time I ever seem to find seeds is in really average bags of weed - so I've given up on that route.

londongirlnyc what strain(s) you are going to order? This is my first grow and although im educated enough to make the endeavor into advanced botany I think id prefer the 'easiest to grow' coupled with 'coolest buzz' because i might have to leave it unnatended at times for security reasons. I checkd out www.buydutchseeds.com and it has some useful info but I dont want to risk losing my package to customs. however those prices seem to be fair compared to others ive seen. but of course that only applies if this company is on the up & up, for all i know they might be shipping fake customs seizure letters. maybe im being paranoid.. I wish i had placed an order from marc emory before he got busted.. I heard almost all his packages got through. youve heard of emory right? if not then just google emory.. its such a shame.. i think he might go to jail for life for selling seeds.. i think he was in canada near niagra falls and was selling through the mail and over the counter. id prefer to buy from a canadian vendor or similar if there is one.. but hopefully this contact of mine is going to come through for me.. then all i need to worry about is customs and the mailman.. now if i can just PICK ONE from this list i'll be ok, hmm LOL this isnt easy

To be honest, I'm reading through masses and masses of strain descriptions and trying to make some sort of mildly educated decision. This is taking me ... hmm ... all day.
If anyone has any contributions to make with regard to advice please do.
I'm going to take the chance and go with that website, if everything comes through sucessfully then I'll let you know.

the happygirl site has three links near the top of the page that i found very informative and helpful, they are 'Seeds Explained', 'Grow Guide', and 'Yields Explained'. I wanted to look at the following link: http://www.overgrow.com/strainguide/ but neither this link or the root domain overgrow seems to be working. So i STILL need help choosing a strain off that list i posted earlier in this thread. It seems a lot of people/connoseurs like sativas but they are harder to grow & yield less. Supposedly they are a trippy high that might prove easier to get work done while high and easier to concentrate. The indicas seem to be the popular choice but the high seems to be the kind where it affects your short-term memory and decision making faculties and is probably the kind of high that overwhelms you and make you feel like the only thing your capable of doing at this time is sitting on the couch and watching pink floyds thewall on tv while spacing out. Im hoping maybe theres a cross-breed or an easy to grow and bountiful sativa (if there is such a thing). Maybe the "ice" strain.. it was after all 1998 cannabis cup wiiner.. to my knowledge this is a potent sativa.. yet i have no idea how difficult to grow. comments anyone? thx

overgrow was shutdown by the Gov't, this is why we are here to pick up where they left off.

as i gain more knowledge the decision process of choosing one strain is becoming easier. it wont be long before i will be checking the mailbox on a daily basis. ill definitely let you know if my package gets through. just a hint. don't order from BC Bud Depot......Unless you want to throw your money away, and don't mind waiting for months and months to get something that might not show up.
They are very slow on shipping, one order (my last ever with them) took 5 months.
