Dispensaries in Colorado vary on price. With a med card there's shops that have 30% THC flower at $70 an ounce. I won't grow a new strain without trying the flower first and I'm always trying new strains. Saves a lot of time when a hype strain comes out, I get samples to see what new flavors I like.
The big dispensaries usually suck but the mom and pop small places are where to go.

I have had ok to good weed from dispensaries, its been a long time since I bought bud from one though. I am a big fan of the novelty items and pick up cartridges a few times a year and give the weed jars a look.

Between legal and illegal weed, the black market tended to have better weed. It had much better margins to ensure proper handling and the market was better informed and wanted a better product. I do really like the variety of choices legal weed offers, widest selection I can recall from the illegal side was like 5 varieties to choose from vs places that keep a stocked menu.

There are a few tasty commercial strains, but, in my experience, every time I scope the trichomes of commercial strains, they are clear. I'm not talking about bottom shelf stuff....I'm talking about the "best" stuff in the store. So, my conclusion is that commercial growers' priority is to be on-schedule and meet quotas -regardless of whether or not it's as good as it could be.

I grow my own, now, but I don't grow to resell because it's illegal to do so. I'm not sure that the life of an illegal weed dealer, trying to compete with the legal market, is what I want. That's a big reason why I grow my own in very small batches and keep it to myself -to avoid having to hang out with creepy, dealers just to score a bag. I also like to change up the flavors, too. I don't want to rely on someone else's taste in weed to determine what I'll have to settle for.

Lastly, I find that most people who rely on someone else for their weed, don't really know weed well enough for their opinion to matter when it comes to judging quality. Anything is usually good enough for them. If they catch a buzz, that's all that matters. They see weed as a party item.

There’s also a mucho lack of glands on the dispo weed, I bring it home and scope it, and just laugh. My suspicion is they have figured out to get glands falling during trimming, vibrating process for the more lucrative concentrate market. Then they just sell the buds that maybe have a fifth of the original glands still on it. Lol that takes quite a kick out of the buzz for sure. I have found some good though, right now I’m pleasantly surprised by the gorilla pie and the deep fried ice cream. But lots of kids for sure.

Check out my 1st New Mexico recreational dispensary this afternoon. I have some fine herb sitting at home but I was in town and wanted to check them out. The 2 Bud tenders were friendly enough asked interested in anything I said I wanted to check out the flower. They were quick and proud to tell me that all flower was grown in house. So the one strain I recognized was GG4 I asked the butt tender if it was grown from clone or from seed seed he proceeded to just tell me that it was an auto. Another guy said no bro these are all photos out here our next run is going to be all auto's. All of the flower looked pretty shitty especially compared to what I have from home grown. I was just like alright thanks and walked out I was kind of embarrassed for them.

It's great they have flower for low prices for the masses but I am very willing to pay good money for good weed. This was a joke or now maybe I've been spoiled by homegrown
