Your thoughts on plucking yellow leaves?

Hey everyone,

The past few days I've been inspecting my girls and found loads of whithered leaves, hidden between the stalks. As well as many green, turning yellow leaves.

I've plucked almost all of them. My rule of thumb is that, if it comes off easily - no harm done. Yet even if it's yellow, and I feel resistance - leave it!

I'm geussing that these are dead leaves and no harm will be done to yield for taking em off, right?

The girls are 6 weeks into flowering, so yellow leaves are normal, eh?

Thanks,

-Rich

I am all the time plucking any yellow leaves I see in my grow. No problem as of yet. I also pluck any leaves starting to turn yellow, if I can pull it off easily I get my trimmers out and cut them off during my regular pruning.

I have been taught that you pull the yellowing, dying, leaves off as well. I generally grab the stem and bend them toward the ground until it easily comes off, sometimes it will snap other times just comes off. If I feel like I am bending it too much before the break, I leave it.

Any leaf on your plant regardless of the condition, obviously to an extent, will absorb some light, and co2. So any that you can leave on I would.

I don't pull live leaves. If it's 100% dead I will pull it off.

I read somewhere that the reason for leaves to turn yellow during flowering is that the energy from the leaves goes into the buds getting bigger and bigger. Therefor you wouldn't want to pluck leaves ever because you would want the entire leaves energy to go into the bud. If you were to pluck you would waste that energy and that sucks... But I like to pretend that my plants are somewhat natural... I use organic soil/ferts and I leave the dead leaves. But that's just me.
