your thoughts?

Hello everyone!

First of all, thanks to everyone who has ever posted something here. I spend 3-4h hrs a day just browsing through threads learning tons of new information. You are the best guys.

Since I'm newbie in growing (have been smoking for a while though lol) I need a LOT of advice.

I would love to know what you think of my vision: growing 1 white widow plant in 25"w x 30"l x 70"h growbox powered with all the CFLs my girl needs.
Maybe it would be possible to grow 2 plants? Is given space big enough?

any train thoughts appreciated

CFL sucks for entire grows.Even T5 is questionable. So I don't think a lot of that. How about a 400 watt HPS instead?

You could probably grow two babies and have the turn around quicker with less yield, but I would personally grow one monster that took a little more time and gave a larger yield! With one you could also place your lights around it more strategically than if you had two jammed in there.

A 400 w would probably not fit in such a small area and if it did that would be a lot of elec and investment for one plant at a time. Everyone pushes the hps and I'm having much more success now that I have mine, but it's not perfect for everyone.

That tent can handle 400 watts. No matter the light it will need venting. But the popcorn bud industry needs support.

DrKingGreen, that was the point why I was thinking about one plant not two. They would be jammed and I don't want that since it's not comfortable for anyone.

hotrodharley wouldn't 400w HPS produce more heat? my exhaust vent is not powerful enough so I would like to keep the heat away as much as possible. same goes to my elec bills.

Yeah you'd be better off with a 250w hps if anything due to space limitations and potential heat issues. Just a thought.

so you are saying CFLs are not good idea in given condiotions? I'm hooked on them because I live in a country where HSP bulbs are not so easy to find.

and what about 250W hps on the top and 2-4 23W CFLs on sides? how would that work comparing to 400w bulb?

I would agree that the 250w would be best. If you are growing for personal (one plant sounds like it), your popcorn nugs don't need to be industrialized, and will smoke just fine. I had a friend that grew cfl's, and although his 8th's looked like q's they were so fluffy, they smoked fine even though they burned up too quick.
I'm sure with the amount of research you have done, you realize that hps would be significantly better, but if you have your mind set on the cfl's, then the simple answer to your question without the b.s. is above! I sometimes feel as if forums are run by hps salesmen. It would be different if people answered the question and recommended hps, but they usually don't even answer the flippin question.
