Zimmerman-Martin Case

your naive view is laughable, go spend a day in court on arraignment day, and you will know what i am talking about

the poor get fucked, and the rich with attorneys get off, and thats about it, how is that fair same laws same crimes, rich laywed up defendants get off or plead down, poor fucks same crime no lawyer or jerky one and way different outcome,

truth
i agree that does happen and that it should change but that doesnt devalue anything of the principle, if it means anything, it means we need to work on making our courts fair again, instead of just sitting back and being jaded about it.

so we choose to live in this fucked society? lol c'mon now
pretty much. you live in the united states, you pay taxes, you benefit from public works, therefore you give implied consent to the govt. and if you have an issue with the laws and rules and the unfortunate corruption, you have the option of living anywhere else where you agree with their laws. IE people who come to america from other countries... they chose to leave because of their disatifaction and by choosing not to enter into the social contract

i dont think you saw my edit. what public works do i benefit from? shouldnt the ppl that pay taxes an have the public works funded have a lot more say in what laws are made? not a room full of old fat fucks who are bein tossed money under the table to have certain shit a certain way. i have the option but most ppl wouldnt have the means to move to another country an as said again most laws i would imagine are the same around the globe if not worse than here.

lmao. how about paved streets? bridges, roads, etc. all infastructure that you benefit from. and you do have a say in what laws are made. you decide who will have your vote in congress. you decide who you vote to state assembly. you decide who gets to be on city council. they have the law making power but the power is in your hands to control them. they answer to you. you have the right to protest, to speak out, and also the right to not vote them back in. and thats all they care about. so do hella research on who you are voting for and what they stand for, and you will have the power to control laws. but also we need stricter rules on lobbyists. those guys are ruining america for coporate interests

Our courts are fucked up lol.Even if you're innocent you'll end up having to pay out the ass to beat the case at trial unless you want to risk your future with a PD.Then you got the newspapers and channels that will slander you left and right so when you finally do get acquitted after fighting the case for 1-2 years they won't say shit about how you were innocent, everybody will know you as the guy who shot whats his name and must of beat the case cause the victim was to scared to show up or some other bullshit.

Then you got the plea bargains..........It's crazy how many innocent people plead guilty just to get out of jail cause they know if they fight it they'll be sitting for a long ass time......This system is designed to get people to plead guilty whether they did the crime or not.

and like you said we payed for that shit so its not like the gov't said hey guys here's some new streets for ya! lets be real now. you THINK you have a say in what laws are made. if you agree they have corruption how can you turn around an say that we have a say? hahaha oh right an how often do the ppl that get voted into office do the shit they say they're gonna do? they answer to me....-____- god i hope that was a joke. they answer to who put a new bmw in their driveway. ppl go an speak out an protest on a daily basis does it change much? we need to get rid of the ones in power an bring it back to the people. like nation wide law approval not just some lyin fucks

you dont seem to get the concept of a social contract. they could just take your money and be like fuck it, we're spending it like we're the romanov's, fuck public schools and hospitals and roads and welfare and medicaid and all the other wonderful shit the govt gives us.
we do have corruption. and people we vote into office lately fucking suck. because the average american doesnt care enough to actually learn about the people they vote in, they go with name recognition. then, these idiots who are being voted in by idiots have campaign donations from private interests that pretty much control what happens when they get into office. we need more govt transparency, but just because we have gotten corrupt doesnt mean our system isnt right or that our fundamental rights are wrong, it means we are becoming a society that is much less involved and therefore much more abused by the govt while be lulled into complacency by our material gains

take a drive down to new orleans cause i can tell you for damn sure they dont put that money back into the schools or hospitals. they barely fix the roads cause they got fuckin pot holes EVERYWHERE. medicaid is totally fucked an doesnt help ppl who really need it like me when i really needed it to go to the doc for my herniated disc an was/am still unemployed. an why didnt i get it? cause i dont have a baby...lol like what the fuck is that. so if you dont have a child you dont need help? they got welfare down pat down here tho just to keep the inner city blacks from runnin up in city hall with aks lightin the place up. ive never really seen anythin or what wonderful shit they gov't has done for me besides pay for more bullshit on top of the money they already get from us.

you right tho ppl dont research the fuck ups they put into office they just do it cause someone told them to vote for that person. even with that you cant tell what a persons hidden agenda is till its too late an they're fuckin up your city/country

we shouldnt even have people living long-term on welfare. like seriously, i know people i went to school with got it generation after generation, free lunch and subsidized health care, but some how my dad gets cut off after two years, went hundreds of thousands of dollars in medical debt, where was his help? america needs an overhaul top to bottom. but that doesnt change the principles of freedom, of innocent until proven guilty, etc. it just means that the principles are good and the people are bad

the principle is sound an i have no issues with that its the ones that are there to uphold that principle that is the issue. innocent until proven guilty is bs in my eyes. if that was the case why would you have to bond out of jail if you're innocent before your trial? some cases yea i can see that, but others its flat out obvious who was in the wrong yet as ....... said earlier because say you an another killed someone an one person decides to be a vagina an make a plea bargain an rats out the other they get a lighter sentence. thats bullshit an it happens all the time. or say you're innocent an you cause it wasnt a slam dunk that said you didnt do it you go to jail if not for life/death penality just cause some twits in a room made a retarded as fuck judgement call? im never gonna be able to co-sign on some shit like that an there isnt much you can do to change it no matter if you protest or not short of you tryin to run for office an make the shit right. which honestly i been thinkin bout doin in my city to try an get weed legal round this bitch so innocent ppl can stop havin to shell out their hard earned money for fines/court fees an thats if you dont get jail time. NOBODY should be able to tell you what you can an cannot do with your own body.

i got a seat belt ticket an i havent payed it an honestly dont want to cause i feel its just another bullshit law made to get money out of ppl. granted ima have to get a new drivers licence this year cause mine expires so if i want to drive ima have to pay it an that makes my fuckin blood boil.

you right but i mean you have thousands of
ppl that cant get a good job to support their fam what are they suppose to do? i mean they could be smart an not have 30 kids, but in all honesty they do that to keep the welfare comin in. they see that as a better way of livin than workin at mickey d's

It's the same thing here.....Something else I been wondering............Where does all the money from fines and citations go?The city probably brings in over 50 million just from citing people every year, with all that they could have North Philly looking like fucking Beverly Hills with a cop on every corner. It's like they don't want it to stop.

Dissenting opinion.
While it is corrupted almost beyond recognition in our courts today, that does not devalue the principle. I would think it's a good thing to teach and to believe.

The divergence with the tractor metaphor is that while you can swap a Deere for a Ferguson, there's no other (tolerable) leading brand waiting to be chosen over presumption of innocence. cn
when i get a farm, we're going to pump out ostrich milk and rooster eggs like no other.
