2 i want to add a dampner to a Y spilt for ducting .........has anyone tried this.....if so do i need anything other then basics (dampner/ducting/screw driver)........connector..dampner

skip the dampener get a fan speed adjuster for sound control and use one size fan too big (8" instead of 6")
zip ties are fine, duct tape works ok too

Its best to use hard metal pipe any place you can use it.The flex duct has a spiral liner in it that creates friction. When zip tieing a fitting you can take your pliers and bend you a couple of dents around the outside edge of what you are hooding your tie to.(SHEET METAL PIPE.)This will make a small bump in the sheet metal and help keep the flex connected to the pipe or fitting.I crimp it outwards three times evenly spaced around the outside edge of the metal fitting..then put the flex over it and then tie it..if it tries to come off it will grip against the little edges you turned up with your pliers preventing it from coming off of the fitting. Hope this helps.

well i need the y ducting junction for 2 tents .............now i have one dumping into the other then dumping it outside ......so that 2nd tent is running warmmer then what i want it too so re do the ducting

since i will never beable to account for the ducting lenght plus the bends to get a balance in the system that way ............in the Y juction i will add on of those dampners so the 2nd tent supply is sucked at the same lvl as the other one

tent 1........ is 2 bends plus about 10/12 feet of strait ducting to the Y
tent 2 .......is 4 bends but the shortest lenght to the fan

running a 400 6 inch cfm both tent sizes are 4x4x6 with a cfm 108 (that is once a min) so it cycles the air once every 30 secs for both of those tents once i balance

both tents run a 260 cfm 6 in booster fan for powered intake (should helps for some of the bends )

if i have done the math correctly it should just be little tweaking on the vent and the system should balance out perfect for those 2 tents (and the house does not smell of weed )

i would of never thought of that ............what about using a small drill bit and then just putting in something like a nub(those little rubber things on bottom of so many things ) on 3 points of contact

if i done it right i should only need 3 zip ties and i got the hose clamps

lol i deleted my post, i misread and for some reason thought you were having trouble attaching the flexie to the fan
