Zipper light in tent

Hey,

I just received my 32x32x63 grow tent.
I zipped myself inside & noticed 2 things.

1. Their is a small hole, the size of a pen tip right under one of the vent holes.
2. zipper leaks in a tiny amount of light between the zipper teeth (Only in some spots).

Now I am looking at this thing from the inside with a bright light no more then 2 feet hanging on the wall. Which will prob not be on that often while flowering.

Would you say this is going to effect my flowering?

I know I can put a blanket over it but I still would like to know how dark it has to be in the tent while flowering.
ALSO! This is a brand new tent, I have the right to return it if I like.

Give me your thoughts guys and gals!

Thanks!

Piece of duct tape over the tiny hole ( although I wouldn't stress over it ) and the "zipper glow" is nothing I would worry about.

Now, there are going to be people who will disagree with me, saying "total darkness or it's hermie city"....that's not my experience.

Thanks dude!

I figured some light has to get into everyone grow tent. I mean if you have exhaust, then some lights going to get in.

If I end up keeping this tent, I will just make a roll up style cover that will cover the zipper area & have Velcro to hold it up.

Use HVAC tape on the hole. As for the zipper. There should be a flap that you can use Velcro to hold it over zipper.

If your exhaust takes a 90 degree turn, lights not going to get it. Light only bends under extreme gravity :)

Velcro for sure. But like you said the light in the room will be off durning flowering so that's good. If you eliminate the source of light from outside the tent, problem solved.

Or if you want to leave the light on get a green for the room. Our plants don't respond to green lights spectrum.

Ahhh I just learned something. Never knew about the green light trick.

Yeah, I bought this tent for 79.99 + tax. Can't expect much. Other then the zipper light and tiny hole, it seems like a pretty solid tent.

Here are some pics

1. where the light is
2. box shot (No pussy)
3. Where the light come in

Also, that light is pretty bright. Its a recessed flood light.

all good advice, but my best advice to you is your conern about light leaking back in is unfounded it take more light than a crack to cause hermies. but if your are just concerned about the light escaping like you should be then most everyone already gave you the answers and i really dont have anything to add :)

I figured if I keep this tent then.....

Their is a small black twill trim that hangs from the zipper. I just need to get some black 3" tape and make a DIY flap that will cover the inside zipper path.
