Stay away from ILGM!!!!!!!

What breeders beans did you order from NASC? Everything ive gotten from them was great. But, I did my research into the breeders before i ordered. NASC is not a breeder. They sell beans from a large collective of breeders. Its still up to you to select the right one. If i may suggest, dont just look for a specific strain. Good breeders like to coin their own names for their strains. Look for quality breeders and then see which strains they have that have the characteristics you want.
I’ve had only good luck with NASC also. They are now producing their own in-house seeds, though I haven’t tried them. Everything I’ve received from NASC came in the original breeder packaging, which I think is pretty essential to avoiding BS, at least from what I’ve read.

I fell for that one too when i first ordered beans. I googled ," best seed bank" and ILGM topped most every list. This is more due to marketing strategy and money than quality. And.....noobs to buying beans fall for the 10+10 and germination guarantee very often. In truth, ive had no issues germinating anyone's beans whether bought or bagseed. Its not so much that the strains they are selling are ,"fake". Most bean companies and breeders sell their own reproductions of popular strains. The good ones do extensive phenotype selection and though the result may not be genetically identical to the strain its based on, the plants grown will still be good as the sorry phenos have been bred out. ILGM buys from breeders that dont pheno hunt and so its always a grab bag what you end up with. I still have a few ILGM beans i use as space fillers or testers but after growing Mephisto autos for a couple years now, I see just how bad ILGM phenos are. Sure theyve got X and Y magazines saying they are great and if all you care about is germination I reckon theyre fine. But youre much better off getting beans from an actual breeder instead of just a seed seller. Look for terms like F3, BX1, S1 etc. And look for info on parents used to make your strain. That shows that the breeder has at least done work narrowing down the phenos. BTW i just checked NASC and they do have Ethos SLH and a couple others. Check Multiverse too. I buy breeder direct now and its cheaper and just as fast but use whoever you like. NASC has breeders that have won various cannabis cups. Humboldt seed co, Solfire genetics, Mephisto and Night Owl are all great breeders. Hey good luck!
I've started going with agsc. Todd seems pretty transparent, and he's working Mel Frank's original genetics. I just harvested my first run of his og haze. Haven't smoked any yet, but it looks legit.

From NASC I got Do Si Do. Acapulco Gold. Both from Humboldt seed company and I got Gorilla Cookies from fast buds. They sent me 3 weeding cake for free. Do SI Do, and the 3 weeding cake never germinated and they wouldn’t replace them. Acapulco Gold didn’t yield much at all. I’m not sure how everyone knows about all this shady stuff from ILGM. If their seeds were that bad they wouldn’t stay in business no matter how many good reviews they pay people to write.

You seem like a decently bright person and they got your money? Advertising and marketing

Just because seeds come in breeders packs doesn’t mean you’re getting good seeds, or what you paid for. You’ll never know if you’re getting the strain you think you got. ILGM also breeds in house so they don’t have breeders packaging. It’s their own.

How do they stay in business selling fake/bad seeds? Regardless of marketing, if their seeds suck no one would buy them.
What I’m saying is obviously you did and it seems like most new growers fall for the cannabis seed scam market. Uninformed customers who believe what google tells them

Ok you didn’t answer my question. How do they stay in business by scamming people? What proof do you have that they are scamming people?

I think they stay in business from those first time purchasers like me who found their site easily, and found the seeds to be fine. I made 2 orders from them before moving on because of customer service. I didn't have any issues with the seeds other than having to get a replacement that took forever. The plants popped, and grew weed that gets me high. If you're new or don't care very much you probably pick the top Google option.

Not everyone is a name brand shopper.

So is all the grow information on their website wrong too?

Like their grow help section? No that seems pretty correct, at least back when I was using their site for help rather than here. Aside from recommending you pop in paper towels (at the time, they may have stopped suggesting that) it got me through my first grow.

You all say ILGM doesn’t all this shady

The seeds pop and grow healthy plants in my experience, so they are providing the product they're selling. Why do you think they're shit? How many versions of "White Widow" are out there? How many of them are the "real deal?" Probably not many. All seeds are a bit of a gamble.

Good luck with your growing!

Exactly. You never know what you’re actually getting when you order seeds. All I’m saying is that people are bashing ILGM when damn near every other seed bank does the exact same things.

Maybe a couple strains but its well known they use white label spanish breeders. I know their stuff is subpar from growing out 40+ beans over 3.5 years. Doesnt matter where the beans are bred if they dont pheno select. Every single plant ive grown from their beans were so different they might as well have been different strains. If you are determined to use them then good luck! Just be prepared for a ton of plant diversity. Its hard to keep an even canopy when 1 GG auto grows 4 feet tall and the 1 next to it topped out at 18 inches. If they did proper pheno selection then this crap wouldn't happen or would be rare. Do as you wish but im done with em. Shit, I keep getting pulled back into this thread when ive been done buying from them for years. At least youre growing something. Again, good luck!

If you’re happy with them cool. It’s been years since I looked at their site. I couldn’t find much if any breeder information so I moved on. I personally seek breeders who work with my desired strains. For what I call my cookies/commercial high yielders I’m happy with green point and they get a bad rap. For my cancer fatigue I’m liking @BobBitchen slymer and now I’m checking out Rasta Jeff’s stuff. I shop at Walmart but when I compare the produce to the local flea market theirs no comparison.

Right, and all we're saying, is that some seed banks don't, and thats the ones you should consider going with, if you want original genetics.

Ultimately, it's your choice who you get your seeds from. I'm not trying to sway your decisions. Just informing.
