opened the tent and turned the light on today and what did i see , fukn spider mite webs everywhere .

is there any way to get these dead before they kill my plants without spending much beyond pocket change

If you have peppermint oil, rub it around the rim. If theres a spray you can make, spray the container. It will burn the plant if you spray directly on it

im not going to lie , if i could afford it id be all over the docktor doom .

yeah i am sure they are spider mites . you younger folks probably wont understand how this slipped by me . not excusing myself here by any means but im well past old enough to need reading glasses . a few days in a row of things look good as good as i can see without my cheaters on and bam its bug city .

I have the same problem, eyes aren't what they used to be.. Sucks gettin old!

call me extreme if you want to , i think that after i get past this grow i am going to toss this tent in the trash . i freaken hate bugs .
if i could afford it i would also forget all about soil and switch to coco even though i darn well know you still get bugs . the irrational jerk inside me who for some stupid reason i can never figure out why isn't always 100% wrong .
it just happens to reduce the entry points by one .

i know blaming my soil which by happen stance must be fairly healthy and happy because the earth worms that turn up every time i open up to turn the lights look pretty fat and happy to me , is not exactly rational but it sure feels better then blaming myself

Be smart. After this grow, clean your tent. Examine possible points of exposure and asses ways to limit them. Use this website to find a good prevention program that suits your means, and come your second grow, you'll be well equipped to handle whatever comes your way!

Hey Mate, I have had a lot of trouble with these and have just found the hands down best combo for getting rid of the little bastards..
I used a recipie I found on here on a thread called “calciclean”
I brought a pot to simmer for 20 mins with a dozen or so blended habanero chilli’s (plus a handful of birdseye chilli’s I had laying around) a bulb of garlic and 2 tablespoons of dish soap. Strained it, put it in a spray bottle.. I gave it two dousing four days apart and the little bastards are gone.. I also sprayed the pots and the floors around them.

I've started with citric acid , give that a day or two and see if it seems to have any affect . next step if needed will be to try the dish soap and veg oil .
i cant put the habenero's on the list though . i am allergic to some kinds of peppers . they wont kill me but they do give me a rather nasty case of hives

Been battling those little shits for about a year on and off. Have culled and ruined multiple harvests. Looks like I finally got a handle on them with predator mites, fingers crossed they don't come back. So If all else fails

I get the concentrated Safer's End All. A 500ml jug makes 10L of spray and I add 10ml/L canola oil to it. Works great for mites, thrips etc and doesn't break the bank. As it kills by suffocating the little fers they can't build up a tolerance to it like they can with chemical sprays. 4 sprays, 4 days apart has always worked for me the last 20 years but be consistent about the timing and very thorough covering every little bit of the plants or you'll never beat them.

If well into flower them anything you use other than the citric acid or ISO will make the buds taste nasty.

the citric acid looks to be helping . how much is debatable . i am going to spray it again tomorrow and see how or if i am gaining the upper hand
