Hi. I never thought about it till today and I was wondering if any of you know why fertilizers recommend a higher dosage to outdoor plants vs indoor plants?
I have 3 AeroGarden (The brand) systems setup that I grow some fruits, veggies and herbs in and have only been giving them indoor dosage but was starting to wonder if I can give them outdoor dosage.

They are assuming you are growing in the ground under the sun, and that your plants will be larger than they would be indoors. Larger plants, more light...more food.

Thank you. How tall would be considered as an outdoor plant? In one of my gardens I can have plants grow 3+ feet

I believe I read somewhere ( years ago ) that fertilizer outdoors or in soil in general is less effective because of the soil itself. Soil vs liquid environment: liquid holds the ferts in suspension making it more ready available. Think about it for a second, what do we do when using ferts outdoors, we water them in. Plus in my veggie garden there’s more competition for those ferts .
I don’t know if this is 100% correct but it seemed reasonable when I read it.
