This is for all you broke ass weed growers like myself. Home depot has a $75, 300 cfm, 3 speed blower that kicks ass. its even sponsored by nascar!! its a blue blower which is a pretty old school brand i think. the inlet is 4 inch and the exhaust is a rectangle but with a little good ol american ingenuity that shouldnt be a problem. i just picked one up and im pretty impressed. just goes to show that as a rule of thumb, if its made "for growing" then youre paying 50 percent more.

i didnt see any on the HD web site but they have a few in the stores. this is a slightly better deal for the same one.

Its pretty much a dayton blower in a different housing, for a way better price per cfm. you can plug them into each other too!

i got a similar deal with a stanley fan from walmart for 40 bucks

Another note on the Stanley fan that I got

It's a variable 3 speed, high med lo settings

on low eats 60 watts .48 amps and blows 190 cfm
Medium 68 watts .56 amps and 260 cfm
High setting 70 watts .69 amps and 310 cfm

I've found that people have modified them for growing intake is 5" and the exhaust is a rectangle which can be modded to work

some even say that it can cool three 1,000 watt hps's but it is better suited for two

hmm i bought a 6inch blower
like 450 cfm
and still it does keep some hot in the area a little..
i really dont think u can really take 2 1000 watt hotnest out of the room with that kind of power..
better then nothing for sure

hey scruff, have you hooked one of these up to a rheostat? Anyone for that matter? (rheostat = dimmer) (for the newbs)

Awesome collection of images scruffmcgruff. I found this thread after I'd already purchased the blower, but here's some photos of mine I have to add to the Stanley Blower mod collection of photos. I used "Great Stuff" sealant for the 6" adapter and super glue and silicone caulk for the 6" intake. I cut out the grill on the intake and damn does this thing suck some air!

Anyhow, here's a photo of my blower, and a photo of it in it's home atop my dark room tent. And yes, it really is that quiet:

i'm liking this look. haha how loud are these things? have anything to compare them to? can you wrap insulation around it to help silence it or does it get too warm?

Compare it to? Hmm. On low, about as many decibels as your average computer. On high, still quieter than your average box fan. Impresses me

just got one of these for a 2x4x6 tent. plan on having a 600w hps + cool tube sooner or later, this should work for now and after
