Lion's Tail, Pepperoncini Peppers, Pinto Beans, 2x2 ebb and flow & soil, t5 & t8

I'm thinking of a soil formula. 1Tbs bat guano 1Tbs wood ashes 1Tbs sugar 1Tbs epsom salts and maybe 1Tbs dolomite lime per 5 gallons soil. The soil would be regular potting or mushroom compost with perlite. What do you think?

You can see the insulation board I put under the rez.
It keeps the rez heater from being turned on all the time due to heating the basement floor.
 
Looking amazing! Quite the garden there! I started some tomatoes, bell peppers and my daughter threw some pumpkin seeds and flowers in. Not sure how they will do.

Tomatoes are popping up though. Thought id toss a picture in.

I got a little ahead of myself and got a 10000k 400watt mh. The color is similar to what I got going here and it's been working quite well. The thing gives off a lot of UV, I guess I'll run it at night and only see my plants during the dark cycle. At least I'll be able to grow tomatoes this way. Maybe I should do one for my vision and put it aside and call it a $40 mistake. Thoughts?
 
ok so i'll only use it in the grow tent, leave it on only at night when i won't be looking at the plants, open the tent only when the light is off, put six tomatoes under it :roll:
 
Well anyways... gonna use the hid for the ebb and flow. It's been 45 days under the t5s. I figure they'll like the extra light. Pics soon

Commonly known as a finishing or ripening bulb (the last 2-3 weeks of the grow)

Internet-?facts?:
Promotes dark green growth
Will give you a sunburn.. fast
Creates frosty nugs (plants produce thc to protect themselves from the uv radiation)
If used through whole flowering cycle:
Yields rock hard buds
Yields less than an hps

The 10,000k gives off more uv light than regular mh or hps. This particular one gives off alot of 420nm light which according to the facts I'm basing this grow on, are good for maturing plants. Super pyched the box has a spectrum chart. Some 10,000ks give more uv, i'm looking for 420nm
 
aaaand it's meant for an enclosed fixture which i can't afford at the moment so it's back to t5s. not gonna risk it with my wing and potentially let hot glass shards turn my grow tent into a house-fire starter kit. enclosed rated bulbs use less glass and have a risk of bursting ie the need for a enclosed reflector :evil:
 
after a good chat with the hydro store people i decided it was ok to go on
sunglasses and only the camera is looking at it

looks dim but the majority of the spectrum it gives off is off the human visibility curve which the camera is tailored to ?
 
Got mild sunburn while taking pictures (5 seconds) BEHIND the window in my grow tent. Not a safe product, would not recommend it. God forbid anyone opened the thing. Project 10000k out :peace:
