I've seen plenty in similiar straights. Pretty unpleasant stuff to grow up with and having to deal with. It makes it tough not to succumb to finding someone to hate. Pretty basic human psychology.

I didn't point out his flaws CS. I felt empathy at his experience. I know some of the history of what he went through. I have a friend whose father had to leave Iran. I met a guy back in the 90's. He'd been whisked out of Bosnia by church groups. Somehow he survived a massacre. He showed me his art work. It wasn't pretty.

Those experiences can change people in certain ways. It can be very tough not to give in to negative emotions due to those experiences. That was my round about point.

Everything is empty but not in the way people conceive of that conceptually.
That's why age, race, gender, socio-economic status is, ultimately, completely devoid of meaning.

Don't take this the wrong way CS but the lack of non-verbal cues are difficult on the internet but for you, having Asperger's, I think it may make it more difficult to place emotional context with what someone is writing here.
Just a thought.
