This thread is for you! With Thanksgiving just around the corner, come in to this thread and explain why you refuse to acknowledge this great holiday.

Will bump again in a week so you nerds don't make like 6 different threads about this.

why wouldn't i celebrate a holiday based on the incompetency of white people and the compassion of the brown men and women who saved their asses from starvation and freezing?

Thanksgiving, like most things in history, is often taken out of context. That being said, if you complain about a holiday where the main goal is to eat till you can't move, GTFO and give me your plate, I'm HONGGGGrRrrryyyyyyy

I always thought of T'giving as the practice holiday for Xmas. You got out the roaster, got the test turkey, test fudge and everyone got together and there was usually a round of boxing in the backyard (my family was mostly cops and robbers so a few things had to be worked out at the first holiday).

Come Christmas we acted civilized, there was no one gonna step over a drunk cousin on the floor on Christmas, (they had to sleep under and behind the tree).

It was the opposite in my family, Thanksgiving was civilized. Xmas was extreme Guido testosterone, all the adult males posturing and bickering; Grandma and the women bitching at the men for being dicks, so the guys would then harass us kids. Then the show of opening presents, which would guarantee new round of the men getting pissy for the slightest reason. I loathe Christmas

We fry a half dozen+ turkeys a year, nothing new in that department. My wife doesn't reserve certain dishes for special occasions. Eat turkey, cranberry and stuffing in the middle of July.

Don't care what happened or how it happened, it was hundreds of years ago and I wasn't there. Thanksgiving is to us a time to just hang out with the people we care about. Rename it and change the date, the party will be the same.

Those who are butt hurt about it weren't invited anyway, so they can cry foul from their own homes if they so choose to.

Only thing I feel guilty about is knowing that after this 4 day weekend, some of these people I wont see again til next year.

One of our employees comes to our family dinner every year. HIs family Thanksgivings regularly break out in fist fights so he just doesn't go.

Never understood why families get together just to fight. Figured they'd all find better things to do. I would.
