Well yeah- market creation by new customers in State, market creation by more out of state buying. Having only 4 states out of 52 to purchase in. People make a recreational trip to legal outlets, get offered a better deal by the BM, stock up where the choices of herbs are the best. Once the have those connections they keep using them and pass them along to their friends. Makes sense to me.

And social media allows buyers in staters where mj is still illegal find sellers in the states where it's legal. Exactly hippy. Even though prices at legal stores continue to drop they're still way over bm.

Plus their mark up is unbelievable in a lot of cases...The product does not warrant that much
attention .....the stuff basically grows itself... so why be so greedy....
The gst was the hidden bonus that will allow government to prosper big time based on the fact
all things that can be sold or bought will generate gst....so add a multi million or multi billion dollar sector to the
economy...where the real figures are way bigger than that...since the get a 13 percent take...no matter what sells or does not..

Fwiw, non profits do have to charge their clients taxes, but do not have to pass those collected taxes onto the gov. If you want your tax money from purchasing grey or white market ganja to not go to the war machine/prohibition enforcement, then support your local non profit grower/distributor.
